Talkiatry’s mission is to transform psychiatry with accessible, human, and responsible care.  We’re a national mental health practice co-founded by a patient and a triple-board-certified psychiatrist to solve the problems both groups face in accessing and providing the highest quality treatment.

60% of adults in the U.S. with a diagnosable mental illness go untreated every year because care is inaccessible, while 45% of clinicians are out of network with insurers because reimbursement rates are low and paperwork is unduly burdensome.   With innovative technology and a human-centered philosophy, we provide patients with the care they need—and allow psychiatrists to focus on why they got into medicine.

About the role:

We are seeking a Director of Clinical Operations who is hands-on, process and results-oriented and has a passion for growth. In this role, you’ll help us scale the organization to provide unparalleled support for our psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and patients. You will be responsible for provider-facing side of operations such as provider scheduling, coverage, and policy adherence.

As Director of Operations, you hold primary responsibility for ensuring day-to-day operational integrity (all systems go, people on task, results in progress), seamless service delivery and continuous improvement of the workflows. This responsibility includes ongoing observation, administration, and optimization in the areas of training, support, and operational efficiency to achieve excellence in quality and productivity.

Our perfect candidate is organized, collaborative, process oriented, and an excellent collaborator. You advocate for continuous improvement, and you are effective at driving change across the organization. You have experience developing policies, training staff, and optimizing clinical workflows using the electronic medical record (EMR) system. You are intellectually curious and driven to improve systems for the benefit of patients

You will:

  • Consult and collaborate with leadership and staff – clinical and non-clinical – to facilitate the successful implementation of new or revised policies, programs, and procedures, and to ensure the satisfaction of organizational objectives.
  • Ensure consistent provider coverage so our patients can always access the care they need when their doctor is unavailable through creating effective on-call processes, as well as working with any doctors who choose to exit the business to ensure their patients are effectively re-matched with a doctor who will meet their needs.
  • Lead process improvement by reviewing workflows, reporting and researching best practices to achieve goals and operating objectives. You will design and develop alternative systems and procedures and document workflows clearly.
  • Manage and facilitate projects as required.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex patient and staff issues. Establish and maintain good rapport and effective working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and employees.
  • Maintain confidential patient and employee records.
  • Support organizational culture by leading by example and fostering a culture of empathy, service, collaboration, accountability, and inclusion. You will collaborate and develop a sense of team.

You are:

  • A graduate with a BS or BA Degree. MBA, or Masters of Healthcare Management or Public Health is preferred
  • Experienced, with five (5) years’ management experience in healthcare, preferably in an outpatient practice
  • Able to demonstrate progressive responsibility in healthcare field
  • Experienced with process improvement, including re-engineering of systems, processes, and procedures
  • Experienced in building and/or running a large support organization
  • Able to demonstrate organizational abilities and experience establishing priorities
  • Able to demonstrate previous experience in working in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong communicator, with exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Experienced using an EMR, with eClinicalWorks preferred
