Dr. Robertson is a board-certified adult psychiatrist who has been in practice for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. He has held positions of Assistant Professor of Psychiatry with research and teaching experience and publications in Biological Psychiatry.

Dr. Robertson’s practice focuses on medication management. Typically, he offers this in conjunction with supportive therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. Occasionally Dr. Robertson may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome. He emphasizes a collaborative approach with each unique patient with agreed-upon treatment goals and psychoeducation.

He received his medical degree from The Bowman Gray School of Medicine (Now named Wake Forest School of Medicine) in Winston- Salem, North Carolina, and completed his Psychiatry Residency at the University of California Irvine- Orange County Medical Center. He was then appointed Chief Inpatient Resident and Assistant in Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and Clinical Fellow in Psychiatry at Harvard University. After completing training, he was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California at Los Angeles- Neuropsychiatric Institute. He has also held academic appointments at the University of Chicago, Mercer University School of Medicine, Medical College of Virginia, and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He also served as Director of the Mental Health Clinic-Veterans Administration Hunter Holmes McGuire VAMC. He has worked in private practice and hospital and community settings and in telepsychiatry. Dr. Robertson has extensive experience treating a wide range of patients including those patients with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorders, and other related disorders.
