Diana Prieto, MD, is a board-certified adult and child & adolescent psychiatrist in Austin, TX. She has been in practice for over 5 years and specializes in the treatment of psychiatric disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar, and ADHD among others. Previously, she worked at Dell Children Medical Center as an inpatient psychiatrist where she held the position of Associate Medical Director for the adolescent mental health unit, and also served as an Assistant Professor at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. There she worked closely with residents, fellows, and medical students in an effort to advance their clinical training.
Dr. Prieto earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed a residency in general psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at The University of Connecticut-Health Center.
Dr. Prieto is an active member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association. She is fluent in Spanish and has a special interest in minority populations' mental health. She spent part of her psychiatry training working closely with the refugee population in Houston, TX, and continues to provide evaluations for people seeking asylum.
