Get to know

Jan Vincent Samson, PMHNP

Vincent Samson, PMHNP, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. He completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of California Berkeley and worked as a clinical research associate at the University of California San Francisco for several years before pursuing a career in nursing. He then received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing with an induction to Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Vincent’s practice focuses on medication management. Typically, he offers this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. However, occasionally Vincent may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome.

Vincent is trained in psychiatric diagnosis, medication management, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. He has experience working with a diverse patient population struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders. As a nurse practitioner student, Vince completed his clinical preceptorship at Housing Works Community Healthcare. Most recently, he worked at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, providing psychiatric care to a largely-LGBTQ+ patient population. He is also a member of The Association of LGBTQ+ Psychiatrists (AGLP).
