Kimbalie Commissiong, LCSW holds the position of Staff Psychotherapist at Talkiatry. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 19 years of experience as a therapist. Kimbalie obtained her B.S. degree from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York and M.S.W. Degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida followed by a 2-year clinical internship facilitating group therapy and individual sessions with dually diagnosed adults in a substance abuse and mental health clinic in Miami.
After becoming a licensed psychotherapist, Kimbalie worked with adults, adolescents and children addressing a myriad of mental disorders. She also provided therapy and behavioral health assessments to children and families, referred by local child protective services agency, in the natural or foster home environment addressing trauma and abuse. In addition to her work as a therapist, Kimbalie has also fulfilled roles as a Behavioral Health Care Manager, Clinical Care Manager and Employee Assistance Program Counselor for Health Plans. Kimbalie specializes in assisting adults with learning tools and strategies for managing anxiety, and mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder. She also has tools to assist with learning ways to effectively manage stress and improve communication skills to reduce workplace and relationship conflict.
