Dr. Raul Madrigal is a bilingual (Spanish) board-eligible adult psychiatrist and excited team member of Talkiatry. A Texan native, Dr. Madrigal has always had a passion for medicine and it
was during his training in medical school that he found his calling in Psychiatry.
Dr. Madrigal completed his psychiatric training at Metropolitan Hospital Center – affiliated with
New York Medical College, in New York City, where he served as Chief Resident in his last year
of residency. His training emphasized medication management of a diverse spectrum of
affective and psychotic conditions in different settings: outpatient mental health, emergency
room, and inpatient psychiatry. He worked collaboratively with interdisciplinary care teams to
advocate for patients of all ages and backgrounds in order to enhance their respective
outcomes. As Chief Resident, Dr. Madrigal held administrative and leadership responsibilities
within his program.
His areas of interest include, but are not limited to, adults with depression, anxiety, mood
disorders, PTSD and ADHD. Although his primary focus is medication management, Dr. Madrigal
incorporates varying degrees of psychotherapy, such as supportive and motivational therapy.
Should further and/or another type of therapy be needed, he may refer you to a team
therapist.
