Dr. Majid is a board certified psychiatrist who is committed to providing the highest quality care to his patients. During his initial intake appointments, he collaborates with his patients to establish therapeutic goals and spends time getting to know them. He has a strong focus on establishing trust and building a therapeutic relationship with his patients to help them achieve their goals.
Dr. Majid is originally from Houston, TX and completed his medical school training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. After graduating from medical school, he went on to complete his internship in a combined Internal Medicine/Psychiatry program at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He then transitioned to New York Medical College –Metropolitan Hospital’s psychiatry training program where he completed the remainder of his residency.
Throughout his training, Dr. Majid has worked across various settings including the veteran affairs medical center, community mental health clinics, geriatric mental health centers, and psychiatric emergency rooms. A substantial portion of his training overlapped with the COVID-19 pandemic and he has extensive experience with COVID-19 related mental illness. He has also spent a lot of time working with patients struggling with general anxiety, depression, grief, family and relationship issues, college/early adulthood struggles, and career changes.
Dr. Majid’s practice focuses on medication management and he typically offers this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in follow up visits. Occasionally, Dr. Majid may believe that additional therapy is also needed and asks that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome.
