Dr. Vazhuvelil Menon is a general psychiatrist who specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry. She is double board-certified in both general/adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. She has been practicing for 8 years.
Dr. Menon's primary focus is on medication management, with some supportive/emotional therapy. Visits with her tend to be 30-minutes for medication related follow-ups. For the best outcome, Dr. Menon may request to add additional therapy.
She received her medical degree from American University of Antigua, before moving back to NY to complete her residency in General psychiatry at Albany Medical Center, in upstate NY. She then completed a 2-year fellowship in Child and Adolescent psychiatry at Westchester Medical Center in NY. After completing her fellowship, Dr. Menon worked for Texas Children's Hospital.
In addition to general or adult psychiatry, Dr. Menon is also board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. While having treated a wide variety of patients of different age groups, her primary clinical focus has been treating children and young adults with inattention, hyperactivity, and mood disorders.
