Veronica Perez, MD

Dr. Veronica Perez is double board-certified in general and addiction psychiatry. She has been practicing psychiatry in various clinical settings (outpatient, inpatient, residential, jail, consult & liaison, substance use treatment facilities) over the past 7 years.

Dr. Perez believes in taking a holistic approach to caring for patients. This means taking into account one's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being, in order to help develop a treatment plan. Dr. Perez offers medication management and brief therapy (supportive, CBT) during her visits. If more intensive therapy is needed, then she is happy to refer and collaborate with a therapist.

She is a native Texan and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following her enlisted military service, Dr. Perez received her medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine. She completed her general psychiatry residency and addiction fellowship training at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. After her training, Dr. Perez took a position as the Division Director of Addiction Psychiatry with the goal of creating new initiatives for addressing the needs of patients with mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders. She has held teaching positions for medical students, psychiatry residents, and other medical disciplines.

Dr. Perez enjoys treating individuals from all walks of life and understands that everyone's journey is unique. She specializes in treating patients with depression, mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma. Her broad experience in treating mental health incorporates evidence-based practices and a collaborative, patient-centered approach.
