Biography
I'm a psychiatrist with a particular focus on the conditions that tend to hide in plain sight: OCD, PTSD, substance use, ADHD, and the anxiety and depression that so often ride alongside them. Before joining Talkiatry, I trained at UT Southwestern and completed my residency at Baylor Scott & White in Texas, then spent time in New York City working with homeless and formerly homeless adults, many of them living with the long tail of trauma and addiction. That work shaped how I practice.
I care for adults across the lifespan, from younger people just beginning to name what's going on to older adults who've been managing something for decades. I especially connect with patients in the LGBTQIA+ community. My approach pulls from three places at once: medication where it helps, psychotherapeutic work, and the ordinary lifestyle shifts that quietly change how a week feels. No two people need the same mix, so I don't hand out the same plan twice.
A first visit is mostly me asking questions and listening: your history, what's actually bothering you now, and where you'd like to end up. I try to stay open-minded and unhurried, and I'll be straight with you about what I'm thinking and why. The choices about your care stay yours.
Reaching out for the first time takes something. If you've read this far, you've already done part of the hard part, and I'm ready when you are.
