Lindsey Stewart, PMHNP

Lindsey Stewart, PMHNP, holds three Bachelor’s degrees in Biology, Medical Technology, and Nursing, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing. She began her nursing career in 2011, working in inpatient psychiatry, and later expanded her experience to community mental health and home health for patients with behavioral health needs. In 2018, she earned her PMHNP certification from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and has since spent six years providing behavioral health medication management at an FQHC, treating patients across the lifespan.

Lindsey is passionate about her work and values each patient’s unique life story. She focuses on meeting patients where they are and creating customized treatment plans that align with their goals. Her care is rooted in a patient-centered approach, ensuring collaboration and respect throughout the treatment process.

Lindsey’s process blends structure with flexibility, tailoring care to each patient’s needs. Jennifer Hewitt, PMHNP

Jennifer Hewitt is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, credentialed through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Gonzaga University and has extensive experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Her passion for psychiatry and dedication to patient care are rooted in her background as an emergency room nurse and her experience in emergency medical services (EMS). This foundation has given her a unique perspective on the critical role mental health plays in overall well-being.

Rachel Meyen, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Meyen graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency training at Harvard South Shore. She completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry through Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. Dr. Meyen was employed by the Department of Veteran Affairs for 10 years prior to joining Talkiatry. She is board certified in both adult and geriatric psychiatry. She specializes in depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, and many other mental health disorders.

Dr. Meyen is a Harvard trained, board certified, adult psychiatrist who specializes in creating individually tailored treatment plans for patients using high quality evidence and up-to-date clinical guidelines. She has a passion for shared decision making, which means empathetic listening to each patient, and making a customized plan that supports their individual values and preferences.  

When meeting with a patient for the first time, Dr. Meyen carefully reviews current symptoms, past history, patient values/preferences. She works with the patient to develop individual treatment goals. Dr. Meyen values developing a trusting relationship with each patient and wants each patient to feel heard and valued.

Sarita Sharma, MD

Dr. Sarita Sharma is a board-certified adult psychiatrist dedicated to providing personalized psychiatric treatment that addresses the mind, body, and spirit for optimized health and healing. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, she earned her medical degree from Avalon University School of Medicine in Curacao and completed her residency at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois. Dr. Sharma has extensive experience working with underserved patients from diverse backgrounds and with varying severities of psychiatric disorders. She has a genuine interest in treating mood and anxiety disorders like depression and anxiety. She views medication as one of many tools to aid patients, emphasizing the importance of therapy and lifestyle changes aligned with each patient's goals. Believing in a holistic approach, she incorporates mindfulness techniques, lifestyle optimization (sleep, diet, movement), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to target the root causes of unease. She enjoys helping patients navigate meaning and purpose, relationship dynamics, and self-image. With a sincere, direct, and practical approach, Dr. Sharma values empathy and understanding as vital components of effective care. Roel Sepulveda, PMHNP

Roel Sepulveda is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), he has over 10 years of experience providing mental health care in psychiatric emergency rooms, outpatient psychiatry, and telehealth settings. Roel is committed to delivering comprehensive and accessible care that supports patients across diverse needs and backgrounds.

As a provider, Roel values creating a compassionate and collaborative environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their experiences. He takes a patient-centered approach, meeting individuals where they are and working together to identify treatment goals. Patients can expect a nonjudgmental space where their concerns are heard, respected, and addressed with empathy and understanding.

When working with patients, Roel begins by taking time to understand their history, symptoms, and current challenges. He develops individualized treatment plans that may include a combination of medication management, lifestyle strategies, and coordination with therapy or other supports. Kristin Ratz, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Kristin Ratz is a Board-Certified psychiatrist who is an expert in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. She specializes in medication management combined with supportive therapy during 30-minute follow-up sessions. Dr. Ratz recognizes that each patient is unique and believes in an environment of collaboration, in which the patient and psychiatrist work together in order to develop the best individualized treatment plan. A California local, Dr. Ratz obtained her undergraduate education at University of California, Davis, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Human Development. She then attended medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, obtaining her Medical Doctorate. Following this, she completed her adult psychiatry residency training at the distinguished University of California, Irvine. Dr. Ratz has worked in a diverse range of healthcare settings, including county and community clinics, and is very experienced in telepsychiatry. She pays close attention to not only an individual's emotional state, but also their physical, spiritual, and social well-being, in order to provide her patients with exceptional holistic care.

Mary Gutierrez, MD

Dr. Mary Lou Gutierrez is board-certified in both Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and General Psychiatry, with over 20 years of clinical experience. She earned her M.D. from Loyola University Medical Center, where she also completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry. She pursued fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Northwestern University’s Children’s Memorial Hospital. Her past roles include Medical Director for Compass Health Center’s Under 18 Program and Attending Psychiatrist at Loyola. She has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by US News and World Report and Negocios Now.

Dr. Gutierrez fosters a warm, collaborative environment where patients and families feel supported and understood. She emphasizes open communication and works closely with patients to define meaningful, realistic treatment goals. Her holistic, family-centered approach integrates medication management, therapy, and psychoeducation with a deep commitment to cultural sensitivity and compassionate care.
