Brittany Manchester holds the position of Therapist at Talkiatry. Brittany has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from The College at Brockport and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Medaille College. After completing her Masters degree in 2017, Brittany has spent the last 6 years working with individuals looking to build recovery from substance use, eating disorders, and perinatal mental health. Brittany has a License in New York State for Mental Health Counseling (LMHC) treatment and is nationally certified to assist with perinatal mental health symptoms (PMH-C).
Her years of experience include working in outpatient substance use and mental health treatment, residential recovery centers for substance use, and intensive outpatient & partial hospitalization programs for eating disorders. Brittany has also trained new counselors to build their therapy skills and trained counselors on eating disorders and body image recovery education and techniques. Most recently, Brittany has worked with parents on perinatal (pregnancy and postpartum) mental health symptoms, eating disorder symptoms, grief counseling, and relationship counseling. She believes in using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Brittany has experience working with Borderline Personality Disorder, Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Perinatal Mood Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, and Asperger’s Disorder.
