Bryce Thacker, PMHNP

Bryce Thacker grew up in a rural community, where he learned the value of helping others achieve their best selves to support overall community health and well-being. With a passion for helping people live their best lives, he earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Nebraska and completed his nursing education at Creighton University. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and in Community Health, from Creighton University, and later completed a nursing practice degree at the University of Colorado with a focus on population and community health. He also holds a post-graduate certification in psychiatric mental health from Washburn University.

Bryce practiced family medicine for 18 years before transitioning to psychiatric mental health in 2022. His background in both physical and mental health gives him a holistic perspective on care. Since shifting his focus, he has helped individuals improve their quality of life through medication management for mood disorders, PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. He continues to live in a rural community with his family and remains committed to helping people become their best selves.

Bryce believes that each person’s “best self” is unique and that mental health care should meet individuals where they are. He emphasizes a collaborative, client-centered approach, always keeping the individual’s goals at the heart of care. He is dedicated to helping clients identify and overcome the symptoms and stressors that interfere with their well-being, and he works to dismantle limiting beliefs or labels that may have been placed on them.

By taking the time to understand each person’s challenges and aspirations, Bryce helps clients find sustainable, holistic paths to wellness. His care is grounded in empathy, respect, and a deep commitment to supporting each person’s journey toward a fulfilling and balanced life.

Dr. Siera Kirkland is an adult general psychiatrist. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has been practicing for 8 years. Dr. Kirkland focuses on collaborative and evidence-based care. She believes it is imperative to form a therapeutic relationship with each individual and work together as a team to formulate the best treatment plan. Her passion is to educate, empower, and support. She specializes in medication management and brief psychotherapy .Dr. Kirkland received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Paula Wilt, MD

Dr. Wilt is board certified in adult psychiatry. She earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, where she also completed her four-year residency in psychiatry. Dr. Wilt takes a biopsychosocial approach to mental health and has over 13 years of experience with an array of mental health diagnoses including Depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and sleep disorders. Dr. Wilt enjoys spending time getting to know her patients and working hand in hand with them to accurately diagnose and treat the symptoms they are experiencing. Dr. Wilt employs a holistic approach to mental health with a focus on incorporating medication management and supportive therapy to improve her patients' quality of life.‍

Christa DeFries, MD

Background  and credentials    

Dr. Christa DeFries is a board-certified Adult Psychiatrist. She earned her  medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, and  completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry at Baylor Scott & White in  Temple, Texas. Following residency, Dr. DeFries gained additional experience  treating homeless and formerly homeless populations in New York City,  particularly focusing on individuals with histories of trauma and substance  addiction, prior to joining Talkiatry.

Dr. DeFries practices Adult Psychiatry, employing an integrative treatment  approach combining medication management, psychotherapeutic methods, and  lifestyle modifications. She recognizes that each patient benefits from a  personalized mix of these three aspects of care. Dr. DeFries specializes in  treating diverse psychiatric conditions, including those related to trauma,  substance addictions, and various mental health disorders.

Michael Manasterski, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Michael Manasterski is a board certified general psychiatrist. Before joining Talkiatry, he had the honor of working for the Department of Veterans Affairs in both outpatient and residential settings, and gained experience in improving quality of life for veterans with a wide range of troublesome to downright disabling psychiatric conditions, including severe anxiety and mood disorders, psychosis, obsessive-compulsive disorder, developmental disorders including autism spectrum and attention-deficit disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. These disorders have almost certainly been with us for all of recorded human history, but within the last few generations, our understanding of and ability to treat these conditions has grown by leaps and bounds.

Dr. Manasterski trained at the University of South Florida, earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology, and completing medical school and residency at the Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. During his time in training and at the VA, his passion for teaching, both medical trainees and patients, found a productive outlet. He looks forward to bringing that experience forward to serve the broader population in these unprecedented times.

Dr. Manasterski’s practice is centered on evidence-based medication management, expertly tailored to each unique individual, informed by the best available research, using a multidisciplinary approach where appropriate to achieve the best possible outcome. He offers motivational interviewing and supportive psychotherapy, and can collaborate with a therapist on your care team when more specialized treatment is needed on your journey to wellness.

Krithika Nanda Mittakanti, MD

Dr. Krithika Mittakanti is a board-certified psychiatrist with experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She completed her psychiatry residency at Baylor College of Medicine Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in Houston, TX. Dr. Mittakanti previously served as a Staff Psychiatrist at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center for over seven years, where she evaluated and treated veterans with a wide range of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety and panic disorders, PTSD, bipolar-related disorders, ADHD, and substance use disorders.

Dr. Mittakanti practices with empathy, compassion, and active listening, maintaining a non-judgmental approach to create a safe and respectful environment. She values open communication and works closely with patients to establish clear, shared treatment goals.

Dr. Mittakanti begins by gaining a thorough understanding of each patient’s history, concerns, and goals. She takes a holistic approach, considering biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors. Treatment plans are individualized and may include medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes, with a collaborative team-based approach when appropriate.

Priya Mukhopadhyay, MD

Dr. Priya Mukhopadhyay is a board certified adult psychiatrist. She completed her psychiatry residency training at Richmond University Medical Center in NYC. She has practiced in various settings over her career including inpatient, outpatient, comprehensive psychiatric emergency program (CPEP), and the consult liaison service to name a few. She has experience providing patients with compassionate psychiatric care treating patients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, family and relationship issues, as well as other mental health issues. Dr. Priya's practice focuses on medication management. Typically, she offers this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. The philosophy of her practice is to collaborate with patients to meet their specific needs and make an impact in various stages of their lives. Growing up in NYC as a South Asian American female in medicine, Dr. Priya strongly values diversity and compassion and strives to make her patients feel heard, validated, and comfortable at all times.
