Georgia Gaveras, DO

Dr. Georgia Gaveras holds the position of Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Talkiatry. She is triple board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and addiction medicine. She has been practicing for over 18 years. Dr. Gaveras's practice focuses on medication management. Typically, she offers this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. However, occasionally Dr. Gaveras may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome. She received her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME, before moving back to NY to complete her residency at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital. After completing training, she remained and worked with dually-diagnosed adolescents at the Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Education Service (CARES) before becoming the Director of Training and Education for the Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals. She was then the associate director of child and adolescent emergency psychiatry at Cohen Children's Medical Center before becoming the Director of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn. Dr. Gaveras has held academic appointments at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, Zucker School of Medicine, and SUNY Downstate Medical College. In addition, she has appeared in numerous professional publications and authored several research papers. In addition to general, child, and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Gaveras is also board-certified in addiction medicine and trained in the Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions Service (EDCAS) program at the William Alanson White Institute. She completed her undergraduate studies at New York University. While having treated a wide variety of patients, her primary clinical focus has been in treating adolescents and young adults with co-occurring substance use disorders.

Monica Badillo, MD

Dr. Monica Badillo is double board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She received additional training and certification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the New York Medical College Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Badillo is bilingual and speaks Spanish and English to deliver quality care for patients and parents. She provides medication management while incorporating psychoeducation, supportive, and psychodynamic psychotherapies. Generally, she employs 30-minute follow up sessions, and she may request a psychotherapist to participate in treatment. She listens and builds rapport with patients and families, while utilizing a trauma-informed, patient-centered, comprehensive, and collaborative approach. She completed her undergraduate degree at Fordham University in New York, and subsequently received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica. She then completed general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, BronxCare Health System. She excelled in her program and was awarded honors as Chief Fellow in achievement and professionalism. After completing training, Dr. Badillo continued to work at the institution as an attending psychiatrist in the Child and Adult Outpatient Services, Pediatric Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), and Pediatric Consultation Liaison services. She has held leadership roles, and instructed medical students, fellows, and resident physicians. Maxine Minto, MD

Dr. Maxine Minto is a double board-certified psychiatrist. She is board certified in General Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Dr. Minto is an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. She is an active member of both the APA and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Minto received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed her general psychiatry residency and child-adolescent fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. She has more than 25+ years of experience working in the psychiatric profession. She has previously worked extensively in the role of medical director in multiple settings. Dr. Minto was honored with the role of medical director of a large community mental health center, child psychiatry inpatient program, adult and child inpatient residential treatment program, and outpatient residential day treatment program. She also has 8 years of experience working with the Deaf community. Dr. Minto specializes in psychopharmacology and supportive therapy. She performs comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develops patient-centered individualized treatment plans, and schedules regular follow-up appointments. Megan Kelly Gilman, PMHNP

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Megan is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in medication management and various therapeutic techniques. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from Regis College and has board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Megan has extensive experience in psychiatric settings, including private practice, inpatient facilities, and substance use treatment programs. She has worked on community initiatives, such as the Mobile Suboxone Van program, which provides treatment to individuals in high-need areas.

She utilizes evidence-based practices in treating clients with mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma, and substance use disorders, among other mental health disorders.

The first priority is establishing a therapeutic relationship and providing adequate support, which can substantially impact outcomes. The combination of medication management and therapy can effectively reduce symptoms and contribute to the remission of mental health symptoms.

The first session will involve a 60-minute psychiatric evaluation to gather history and discuss current symptoms and goals. Clients starting medication will need more frequent 30-minute follow-up appointments for medication management and therapy, ensuring a positive response to treatment.

Holly Hunter, MD

Dr. Holly Hunter is a child and adolescent psychiatrist. She received her medical degree from LSUHC-Shreveport and completed her psychiatry residency training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She went on to complete her child and adolescent fellowship at UAMS. During her fellowship, she participated in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program.

Her professional experiences include roles at Burrell Behavioral Health, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She enjoys treating childhood trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders but has experience in a wide variety of psychiatric conditions.

Aidin Ashoori, MD

Dr. Aidin Ashoori brings clinical experience from diverse settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and emergency departments. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and completed his psychiatry training at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Ashoori works with individuals of all ages and cultural backgrounds. He has treated a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety/OCD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and other psychiatric concerns.
