Biography
I'm a psychiatrist with experience treating LGBTQ+ concerns, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and ADHD in adults. Before I became a physician, I was a teacher, and honestly, I wanted to be a psychiatrist for as long as I can remember. I did my medical school and residency at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, and I especially connect with people in the neurodivergent and disability communities.
My first priority is getting the diagnosis right. I take my time and work carefully, because an accurate picture of what's going on is what everything else depends on. That means I'll sometimes ask sensitive questions, but I ask them without judgment, and only ever in service of helping you. I want us on the same page about your care, so I'll tell you what I'm thinking and check that it lands the way I intend. Alongside medication, when it's appropriate, I bring psychotherapy techniques into our sessions and pay attention to the wider parts of your life, not just a symptom list.
Expect our first visit to feel less like an interrogation and more like a patient conversation, where I'm listening for the full context before I offer anything.
If you've been looking for someone who will slow down, take the whole story seriously, and treat you as a partner in the plan, I'd be glad to work with you.
