Most recently, she served as lead psychiatrist for two Texas state hospital forensic units. She semi-retired from leadership positions in medical education and administration in 2021/2022 (deanships in admissions, student affairs, curriculum development and medical school accreditation), but continues consultation in medical education and accreditation for new and developing medical schools. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, has received multiple teaching and educational leadership awards, and is a peer-reviewed published author. Outside of medicine, she is the mother of four adult children, enjoys time with her first grandchild, and is the proud parent of Mork, a Yorkshire Terrier named in honor of Robin Williams.
