Katrina Im, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who is dedicated to providing holistic treatment to those seeking mental healthcare. Katrina enjoys treating young adults, adolescents, and children.
Katrina’s practice focuses on medication management. Typically she offers this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. Occasionally Katrina may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Boston College and later received her Master of Science in Nursing at Yale University with an induction to Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is certified to treat all ages and has received focused training to treat children and adolescents. She has also completed basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to further treat patients with trauma history. She utilizes a psychodynamic treatment approach to treat the whole person.
Katrina has clinical experience in multiple settings over the last 5 years. She has trained in the Intensive In-home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service at Yale Child Study Center, Crisis Intervention Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital, and various community health settings. Most recently, she worked at the Partial Hospital Program and inpatient units within Four Winds Hospital.
As a nurse practitioner, her goal is to provide individualized holistic care to each patient using a combination of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology.
