Kristina Eipl, MD

Dr. Kristina Eipl is a board-certified adult psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s in neuroscience. Dr. Eipl later attended medical school at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Her interest in neuroscience, combined with a passion for the humanistic side of medicine, led her to pursue a psychiatry residency at NYU. There, she gained experience working with a diverse patient population. After completing residency in 2018, Dr. Eipl chose to pursue private practice to allow her to spend more time with patients and build on her interest in psychotherapy. She spent over 6 years in solo and group private practice in Los Angeles. She is committed to working with insurance-based practices as she is passionate about providing affordable access to quality healthcare.
 
Dr. Eipl takes a collaborative and compassionate approach to both medication management and psychotherapy. She enjoys utilizing various forms of psychotherapy to empower individuals to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. She has experience with many types of psychotherapy and particularly enjoys incorporating elements of supportive, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapies in all visits. She practices thoughtful and evidence-based medication management.

They create a validating, judgment-free space while attending closely to the impact of intersectional identity on symptoms. Dr. Cyrus’s prescribing philosophy emphasizes that medications can help but aren’t a complete solution, respecting each patient’s body and choice.

In the first session, Dr. Cyrus addresses questions and ensures the therapeutic fit is right. The initial intake gathers a thorough understanding of a patient’s history, identity, and goals. Shannon McElhone, LMHC

Shannon McElhone is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and Massachusetts. She has over ten years' experience working in the mental health field. Shannon has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults seeking assistance in managing their experiences with depression/mood challenges, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, trauma, attention focus, and relationship issues. Shannon utilizes humanistic, person-centered, collaborative, strength based, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness based, solution focused and emotionally focused approaches to therapy while maintaining an open, flexible, creative atmosphere to remain aware of the unique and individual needs of each client. Shannon seeks to create a non-judgmental and safe environment where a caring relationship can be built with her clients to utilize and add to their strengths. Through her practice, a collaboration can bring her clients towards achieving their goals and living the life they desire. Emily-Rose Virden, PMHN

Emily-Rose Virden, PMHNP-BC, earned her advanced nursing degree at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and has many years of experience as both a psychiatric nurse and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has practiced across a wide range of mental health settings, including inpatient, outpatient, partial programs, and Emergency Room care.

Earl Andrew De Guzman, MD

Dr. Earl De Guzman is a psychiatrist who values therapeutic partnership, working with patients to balance symptom relief with meaningful self-exploration. He earned his BS in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, and his MD from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center and a consultation-liaison psychiatry fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. He is triple-board-certified in psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, and addiction medicine, and holds psychoanalytic psychotherapy training certification from the Psychoanalytic Center of California. Currently, he is a psychoanalyst-in-training at the New Center for Psychoanalysis. His expertise spans medication management, supportive therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.

Dr. De Guzman takes a collaborative, patient-centered approach, creating a warm and nonjudgmental environment. He listens deeply, asks thoughtful questions, and encourages honest exploration of symptoms and underlying patterns. Steven Atkins, MD

Dr. Atkins is a staff psychiatrist at Talkiatry. He is board-certified in adult psychiatry and has been in practice for the past 2 years. He has received several awards for teaching and the treatment of chronically ill patients, including Stony Brook University's "William Turner Award" for excellence in education and leadership. Dr. Atkins has focused his practice primarily on medication management. He combines medication management with a therapeutic style that is a blend of supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. Follow‐up appointments with Dr. Atkins typically last 20‐30 minutes. While Dr. Atkins is trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques, he works collaboratively with therapists and may recommend their inclusion as part of your treatment team, depending on your individualized treatment plan .Dr. Atkins attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where he received his medical degree. He completed his psychiatry residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. Post residency, he worked with general adult patients as well as older adults at Manchester Memorial Hospital where he served as both an outpatient psychiatrist and Director of the Geriatric Intensive Outpatient Program. Although Dr. Atkins does not treat child or adolescent patients, he has experience working with people of all ages, from young adults to adults. He has experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, patients in the perinatal period, and patients with co‐co-occurring substance use disorders. He has regularly managed behavioral problems in adults with autism spectrum disorders as well as dementia. Stephen Geisler, MD

Dr. Stephen Geisler is a board-certified adult psychiatrist and has been practicing for over 37 years. His practice focuses on medication management, and typically offers this in conjunction with supportive therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. Dr. Geisler is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Nassau Suffolk District Branch of the APA and the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology. Through the years, Dr. Geisler has participated in many clinical research projects, has been the co-author of many papers, and has made many presentations. Dr. Geisler specializes in psychopharmacology, especially tailoring individualized treatment to serve the needs of patients with a variety of conditions. He has a lot of experience in treating patients with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and OCD.
