Shadi Lavasani, MD
Dr. Lavasani is a double board-certified Psychiatrist, specializing in both Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She received her medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and went on to complete both her residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry at Baylor Scott & White medical center in Temple, Texas. She has experience in treating patients with diverse backgrounds and a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses including depressive and anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, intellectual disability, autism spectrum, attachment and other mood disorders. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings including inpatient psychiatric units, emergency rooms, outpatient community clinics as well as consultative work within medical and surgical teams.
Her practice primarily focuses on medication management with psychoeducation while incorporating varying therapeutic interventions such as supportive, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapies in 30 minute follow up visits. In most cases, Dr. Lavasani will recommend bringing a dedicated psychotherapist into your care team to provide the best outcomes. Dr. Lavasani aims to create a welcoming, collaborative and patient centered space and will work alongside you to create a holistic treatment plan. Currently, her primary focus is treating children, adolescents, and young adults from ages 6 through 25 years old.
