Brianna Quirk, LMHC

Brianna Quirk is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York. She attended SUNY Oneonta for her Bachelor’s degree in psychology, and went on to Adelphi University where she received her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.


Brianna has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of different struggles. Brianna is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, and helps her clients to recognize and change harmful and unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior, implement coping skills, and set goals for the future, leading to a happier and healthier existence. She uses techniques from CBT, solution focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and more to tailor each client’s sessions to their individual needs.


Brianna specializes in working with individuals from a variety of different backgrounds and mental health issues: such as anxiety, ADHD, stress, depression, trauma, school avoidance and grief/loss. She also has extensive experience working with members of
the LGBTQ+ community.

Aisling Rea, LMHC

Dr. Aisling Rea is a dedicated therapist with an extensive educational background and experience in the field of psychology. She earned a Bachelor of Science at Florida Atlantic University, completed a Master of Science at Florida International University and a Doctorate in Psychology at Walden University. During her internship at Youth Automotive Training Center and The Humanistic Center for Counseling Services, Dr. Rea worked with individuals, families, couples, first responders and high-risk populations, having the opportunity to work with a variety of clients. As a professional, Dr. Rea gained valuable experience working in inpatient and outpatient programs and settings. Dr. Rea has a passion in helping clients heal from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, psycho-spiritual and relationship challenges. She believes open, empathetic understanding and taking a collaborative approach are the keys to a client-centered practice, and an important part of the healing and wellness of clients. In addition to Dr. Rea's clinical practice, she loves the ocean, enjoying photography, SCUBA diving, participating in beach clean-ups, and spending time with her family, dog and cat.

Matthew Green, LMHC

Matthew Green is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York with over seven years of experience in outpatient settings, both in person and virtual. He earned his master’s degree from St. Bonaventure University and began his career at Olean Counseling Center, where he also completed his internship. Licensed since 2022, Matthew brings compassion and clinical expertise to each session.

Matthew strives to create a warm, supportive, and open space where clients feel safe, heard, and respected. He believes trust is essential to meaningful therapeutic work and values open communication to set clear, collaborative goals. His approach is grounded in mutual respect and genuine connection.

In the first session, Matthew gathers a thorough history to understand the full scope of a client’s experiences and goals. He then creates an individualized treatment plan and focuses initially on coping strategies to support day-to-day functioning. As therapy progresses, the work shifts toward deeper issues and goal achievement.

Joel Witherspoon is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of clinical experience working in various mental health settings, working directly with clients from diverse backgrounds living with a broad range of mental health conditions. Joel earned his Undergraduate degree at California State University Long Beach, Graduate School at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC, and completed his internship in Raleigh, NC. Joel has been practicing for 19 years as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, focusing on mood disorders, trauma, situational adjustment disorders, and any life challenge that interferes with a client's happiness. Working with Joel, treatment is specific to the individual with the focus on modalities that are specific to each person's challenges. Joel uses an eclectic approach with a foundation in person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and trauma therapy combined with somatic interventions such as mindfulness.

Lauren Mingle, LPC

Lauren Mingle is an outpatient therapist at Talkiatry. She is dually licensed in Colorado as a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist). Lauren earned her master's degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling/Therapy from the University of Northern Colorado. Before joining Talkiatry, Lauren held roles in a diverse array of settings including community mental health, crisis services, and outpatient therapy. Her previous specialty focuses included youth, adolescents, adults, and couples. Lauren uses a variety of evidence-based approaches including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to meet people where they are at and work with them to best reach their personalized therapy goals.

Valerie Stern, LCSW

Valerie Stern, LCSW, has extensive experience in hospital outpatient settings, nonprofit agencies, and private practice. She is trained in CBT, ACT, DBT, MI, and IP, and is certified in equine-assisted psychotherapy, having led groups for veterans, at-risk youth, and individuals in recovery. Valerie holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in clinical social work. She began her career working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals and co-founded the Hearing Loss Association of Los Angeles, serving as its first president. Fluent in English, French, and American Sign Language, she brings a deep cross-cultural understanding from her time living in Europe and Asia.

Valerie approaches therapy with curiosity, kindness, and a commitment to creating a supportive, open environment. She helps clients challenge misconceptions and develop healthier thought patterns while fostering honesty, respect, and open communication. When appropriate, she uses humor to build connection and lighten moments in the therapeutic process.

In the first session, Valerie takes time to fully understand each client’s history and experiences to determine the best level of care. She collaborates with clients to create realistic, achievable treatment plans focused on positive behavioral and emotional change. She may incorporate homework, videos, and handouts for later reference, and uses appropriate self-disclosure to strengthen rapport and trust.
