Dr. Desir is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist who completed her undergraduate training at The University of Scranton followed by medical school at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed psychiatry residency at Nassau University Medical Center where she served as the Administrative Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Desir has been in practice for 4 years and has provided patients with compassionate psychiatric care. She has worked in community mental health settings throughout her career, in which she served a wide variety of patient populations. Dr. Desir is experienced in treating various psychiatric illnesses including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, and ADHD. At the heart of Dr. Desir's clinical approach is a strong emphasis on establishing trust and building a therapeutic relationship. She also provides psychoeducation to help patients make informed decisions regarding their care. She works collaboratively with patients to develop individualized treatment plans to help them achieve their goals. Dr. Desir's practice focuses on medication management. Typically, she offers this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. Laura Hendricks has been a PMHNP for over 20 years and has practiced in outpatient treatment settings, inpatient psychiatric facilities, Private Practice, Consult-Liaison Psychiatry and Telepsychiatry.  She has worked with all ages and brings a Family Systems perspective to her work, assisting patients to become more aware of their own development, attachment style, and awareness of how to change behavior patterns to create more satisfying lives.  In addition, Laura is a longtime practitioner of Non-Violent Communication (Compassionate Communication), a modality for increasing empathic connections with oneself and with others.  She incorporates these tools into her practice to support people to live more fully.

John Bellavia, MD

Dr. Bellavia is an experienced board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in adult psychiatry. He was a faculty member of the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle for 8 years and has been a medical director and attending psychiatrist in several clinical settings including academic medical centers, outpatient private practice and consultation. Dr Bellavia works collaboratively with each patient to identify presenting problems and stressors and utilizes evidence-based medication treatments along with individualized supportive and short-term psychotherapy strategies to reduce symptoms and improve function. If clinically indicated, he may recommend adding a psychotherapist to your care team. Dr. Bellavia has a particular interest in treating psychiatric conditions including, but not limited to, depression and bipolar disorders, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and adjustment problems. He has extensive experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, such as university students, creative and tech professionals, and expat communities. Beverly Bryant, DFAACAP

Dr. Bryant graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine to complete her adult training and the Yale Child Study Center/Riverview Hospital for Children Program to complete her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. A native Texan, she returned to Tyler, TX in 2020 to accept the position of Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. She also established an accredited child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship in Tyler. Prior to that, she served as the Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she was also the Program Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Working with survivors of trauma has always been an important part of Dr. Bryant's practice. She currently serves as the co-chair of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's Committee on Child Maltreatment and Violence and she is a representative for the National Health Collaborative on Violence and Abuse. Dr. Bryant also served as the program director of the Eating Disorders and Trauma Recovery program at Menninger Clinic in Topeka. She is board certified in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry and she has over 32 years of experience as a practicing psychiatrist. Dr. Bryant specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mood disorders, developmental disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and family relational problems for both children and adults. She believes that "knowledge is power" and that the more a person can understand about how the brain is affected by various mental health conditions, the more treatment makes sense.
