Karen Kamara, LCSW
Karen Kamara, LCSW, holds a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Houston–Downtown and a master’s in social work and substance use from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has experience working in schools, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Karen has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and young adults facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, self-harm, and bipolar disorder. She also provides care in Spanish and has worked closely with the Latino and LGBTQ communities.
Karen creates a warm, supportive environment where clients feel heard and respected. She uses a client-centered, trauma-informed approach and believes in meeting people where they are. Her therapeutic methods include motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, and play therapy.
Karen begins by building a trusting relationship and creates a safe, non-judgmental space through empathy and active listening. Her goal is to foster healing through personalized care rooted in understanding and connection.
