Biography

I'm a therapist, and I treat depression, anxiety, trauma, and the tangle of struggles around self-esteem and confidence that people often carry quietly for years. A lot of what I do involves helping people feel more sure of themselves, whether that means working through a career conflict, untangling a relationship that has gotten complicated, or just building back a sense of who you are.

I work with adolescents and adults, and I also see couples, friends, and families who want to sort something out together. My approach is integrative, which really just means I don't force one method onto everyone. I pay attention to where you actually are on a given day and adjust from there. Early on, sessions tend to be more about getting to know your story and what's been weighing on you than about handing you a plan; the plan comes as I understand you better.

I care a lot about growth and empowerment, so I'll ask questions that push you to see your own strengths, not just your problems. Some sessions are heavier and some are lighter, and I try to keep the room open enough for both. I'd rather be honest with you than tell you what's easy to hear.

Deciding to talk to someone takes real effort, and noticing that you want something to change is not a small thing. If you've gotten this far, you've already started. I'm glad to be here when you're ready.

I'm a therapist specializing in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and the relationship concerns that tend to show up alongside them, with more than ten years of experience across private practice, clinical, and school settings. Over the years I've worked with children, adolescents, and here at Talkiatry, adults who are moving through a hard transition and want to feel more like themselves on the other side of it.

My approach is empathetic, encouraging, and genuine, and it starts from a simple belief: you already carry the tools for growth, and my job is to help you find and use them. I begin with a thorough clinical assessment so I actually understand your background, what's weighing on you, and what you're hoping to change. From there we build a personalized plan together, drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and solution-focused strategies. Sessions tend to be practical and forward-looking, aimed at easing symptoms, strengthening your coping skills, and setting goals that are meaningful and genuinely reachable. My hope is that the work builds real confidence and resilience, and moves you toward a steadier sense of inner peace.

I'll be honest with you and I'll work at a pace that feels manageable, not rushed. You'll leave a session feeling heard, and with something concrete to hold onto.

Curious whether we'd work well together? That's exactly what a first visit is for.

I'm a therapist who focuses on talk therapy for adolescents and adults, and I've spent more than 14 years doing this work across outpatient clinics, schools, and, for the last six-plus years, over telehealth. I earned my Master of Social Work from East Carolina University after my Bachelor of Social Work at Elizabeth City State University, and that range of settings has taught me to work with people at very different points in their lives.

I treat therapy as a partnership built on accountability and steady progress. I tend to think of myself as a guide rather than someone with all the answers, and I lean on evidence-based practices, skill-building, psychoeducation, and practical strategies you can actually use. I'll often send you off with something to work on between sessions, because the growth that lasts usually happens outside the room. You're in the driver's seat here. I ask for open communication and honest feedback, and if something in our approach isn't working, I want to hear it so we can adjust. Expect me to check in on your goals and to ask you to come to our time together with some intention about what you want out of it.

What matters most to me is that the progress we make is meaningful and sustainable, not just a good session that fades by Tuesday. Reach out when you're ready to get to work.

I'm a therapist who focuses on talk therapy, with 25 years of experience walking alongside people through the kinds of life challenges that don't fit neatly into a single label. I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating strain in their relationships, tension or conflict at home, the disorientation that comes with grief, or the ordinary hard questions of parenting. Often the people I see aren't looking to be fixed so much as understood, and that distinction matters to me.

My work starts from a simple commitment: to treat everyone I meet with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I don't arrive with a script. Early on, most of our time goes toward getting the shape of what you're actually dealing with, and I'll ask questions and listen closely before we settle on any direction. From there, I build a plan around your specific circumstances rather than a generic template, and I check in with you about what feels useful and what doesn't. I'd rather adjust as we go than push an approach that isn't fitting your life.

I trained at Howard University School of Social Work and did my clinical internship at St. Elizabeth's Hospital and the DC Rape Crisis Center, and that grounding in listening to hard stories has stayed with me throughout my career.

If that sounds like the kind of support you've been considering, I'd be happy to talk.

Most of my work as a therapist is with adults, including older adults, who are working through the kinds of experiences that don't resolve on their own: trauma, grief, ongoing mental illness, moments of real crisis, and the strain that shows up between partners. I've been doing this work since 1995, and along the way I've earned certifications in trauma and grief because those are areas where careful, informed care matters. I try to keep things collaborative and honest. That means open, transparent communication from the start, because trust and partnership don't happen without it. I begin by getting to know your history, your concerns, and what you actually want to be different. From there we build a plan that's tailored to you, structured enough to give us direction but flexible enough to change as you do. In a typical session, we'll review how the last stretch has gone, look at recent symptoms and life experiences, and check on your progress. I often bring in homework and educational materials between visits, not as busywork but because I want you to leave with practical strategies you can use when I'm not in the room. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, and I draw on more than one perspective rather than forcing everyone into the same method. If something has been weighing on you and you're ready to look at it with someone, bring it to a first visit and we'll work through it together.

I'm a therapist who has spent years working across outpatient and in-home family settings, and much of that work has moved to telehealth. I see adults and older adults who are contending with trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, the emotional weight of chronic illness, or family conflict that has worn down the people involved. Before this, I taught social work, and that instinct toward mentorship and growth still shapes how I sit with people: I want you to leave with something you can actually use.

My style is compassionate but direct. I'll support you, and I'll also offer a gentle challenge when I think it will move things forward. I start by understanding your story, your strengths, and what you're hoping to change, then we build a treatment plan around your goals rather than a generic one. Sessions tend to have a rhythm: we check in, work on a concrete skill, and look at how things have actually gone since we last spoke. I draw on CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy, always through a strengths-based, culturally aware lens, and I adjust the goals as your life shifts.

What matters most to me is open, honest communication, so you feel understood rather than managed. If you're ready to work on something and want a partner who will be both steady and straight with you, the first step is simply a conversation, and we'll figure out the path together from there.

I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist with eight years of experience across outpatient and in-home settings, and I offer trauma-focused, culturally competent care for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, autism spectrum concerns, and the questions that come up around LGBTQ+ identity. I see children, adults, couples, and families, and I tend to look at whatever you're bringing in through the lens of relationships and family systems, because so much of what we struggle with lives in the space between us and the people we're closest to.

Every session I run is shaped around the person in front of me rather than a fixed script. I draw on systemic, client-centered, and cognitive behavioral approaches, but the through-line is that we work together and you set the priorities. Our first meeting is an intake session: a psychosocial assessment where we talk through your history and what you're hoping to change. After that, I like to start sessions with an open-ended prompt so you can steer us toward what actually matters to you that day. From there we build a treatment plan collaboratively and keep adjusting it as we go, checking in on whether it still fits.

My hope is that, over time, you find new perspectives, reach the goals you came in with, and feel more grounded in your own life. There's no rush to figure it all out at once. Reach out whenever the timing feels right for you.

I'm a therapist specializing in talk therapy with adults and older adults who are working through the shifts that come with different stages of life. Over the years I've worked with people navigating homelessness, substance use, and a range of mental health and behavioral concerns, and I've learned that most people arrive knowing something needs to change but not quite sure where to begin. That's the part I like helping with.

I try to be authentic, realistic, and reliable, and I don't dress things up more than they need to be. After we get to know each other, I'll be straightforward with you about what therapy can and can't do, and we'll figure out what you actually want to get out of it. From there I lean on open-ended questions, the kind that help you notice your own triggers, your strengths, and the coping strategies you're already using without naming them. A session with me tends to feel like a real conversation, not an interview, with room for you to think out loud.

My aim is to help you build insight and resilience at a pace that's sustainable, so the progress holds up after you leave the room. I'm interested in what you're capable of, not just what's gone wrong. I speak English and Spanish, and I'm comfortable working in either.

If this sounds like the kind of therapy you've been wanting, I'd be happy to talk.

I'm a therapist, and over the past 25 years I've worked with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, mood and anxiety concerns, hard life transitions, and the kind of complicated stress that piles up faster than you can sort through it. My background spans outpatient, residential, and integrated care, along with clinical supervision and behavioral health leadership, so I've seen how many different shapes distress can take and how differently people need to be met in it.

I tend to be calm, steady, and pretty relatable, and I'm not afraid to let a little humor into the room when it fits. Early on, my focus is on building a real working relationship: getting to know your history, what's bringing you in, and what you actually want out of this. From there I put together a plan that reflects your values rather than a generic protocol. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in evidence, and I lean on insight, emotional safety, and practical tools you can use between sessions. I check in often and adjust as we go, because what helps in month one isn't always what helps in month six. Honesty and transparency matter to me; I'd rather we name what's working and what isn't than pretend a plan is fine when it isn't.

Curious whether the two of us would be a good fit? That's exactly what a first conversation is for.

I'm a therapist with nearly 25 years of experience treating ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma, and the tangle of issues that often come with substance use. Over those years I've worked with children, adolescents, adults, and whole families, and these days much of my focus is on adults, including folks well into their later years who are still figuring out what they want the next chapter to look like.

I like to describe myself as a kind of GPS during the work we do together. When we start, we can't always see the destination clearly, and that's fine. Between the two of us, I'm confident we can get you and your family where you're trying to go. My approach draws on motivational interviewing tailored to you, some mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques, but the truth is the tools matter less than the partnership. I tend to lean on both compassion and a sense of humor, because the therapeutic road is easier to travel with someone who takes the work seriously without taking themselves too seriously.

A session with me is a genuine back-and-forth. I ask questions, I listen closely, and I'm honest with you about what I'm noticing, so we can build a plan that fits your actual life. Teamwork and a willingness to advocate for you are what I bring to the table.

If that sounds like the kind of guide you've been looking for, I'd be happy to talk.

I'm a licensed clinical mental health counselor with more than seventeen years in this field, and my experience runs across mood and bipolar disorders, anxiety, psychosis, spectrum disorders, trauma, and the hard turns life takes that don't fit neatly into any diagnosis. I've worked with individuals, couples, and families of very different backgrounds and circumstances, and I've done that work in a lot of places: people's own homes, shelters, community programs, medical facilities, and both outpatient and inpatient settings. That range taught me to pay close attention to context, because who someone is can't be separated from where they live, what they carry, and the culture that shaped them.

My foundation is humanistic and psychodynamic. Early on, I'm most concerned with helping you settle into the counseling space and find the courage to explore, integrate, and nurture your true self rather than the version you think you're supposed to present. As we go, I draw on cognitive and behavioral tools, solution-focused work, and systemic and multicultural approaches when they fit the goals you set. Expect a first conversation that moves at a human pace, with real questions about your history and honest talk about what you want to be different.

I hold a doctorate in mental health supervision and education, so thinking carefully about how care is actually delivered matters to me. Curious whether this way of working would suit you? A first visit is where we find out.

I trained as a therapist, and I mostly work with individuals and couples sorting through the parts of life that are hard to talk about: intimacy and sexual health, the strain that builds up in a relationship, depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, and the big transitions that leave you unsure of your footing. As a Certified Sex Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, I've spent years helping people find language for concerns they may have kept quiet for a long time. In session, I want you to feel genuinely heard, and then I want us to get practical about the situations that are holding you back and how you might respond to them differently. My work draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, and for couples I use the Gottman Method (I'm trained through Levels 1 and 2) to strengthen communication and intimacy. I tailor the work to you rather than the other way around, and I make a point of noticing progress as it happens. I'll be honest with you about one thing: change tends to come when we're willing to be honest with ourselves and do the work. As Carl Rogers put it, one must accept themselves as they are before change can occur. If any of this resonates, the first step is simply a conversation, and together we'll decide where it goes from there.

I'm a therapist who focuses on anxiety, depression, and the relationship struggles that tend to tangle up everything else. A lot of the adults I see are trying to make sense of what they're feeling and where it's coming from, and I want them to leave a session feeling genuinely heard rather than processed. I see clients from young adulthood through their later years, and I work in both English and Spanish, which matters when someone wants to talk about hard things in the language they think and dream in.

Much of my early training was in inpatient psychiatric units during my internship at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, where I learned crisis management and acute care. That experience taught me to stay steady when things feel overwhelming, and it shaped how I listen now. In a first session, I'm mostly asking questions and getting a real sense of your life, not rushing toward conclusions. I keep things client-centered, which for me means the pace and the priorities are yours to set, and I check in rather than assume.

Outside of work, my time goes to my family and my two dogs, usually hiking or somewhere near the beach. Those quiet moments of connection keep me grounded, and I think that steadiness carries into the room.

Whatever you've been sitting with, bring it to a first visit and we'll start untangling it together.

I've spent years as a therapist treating adults, adolescents, and older adults who are trying to get some steadiness back in how they handle their emotions. Many of the people I see feel like their reactions are running ahead of them, and they want practical skills to slow that down and respond with more confidence. My work is grounded in trauma-informed principles, which for me is less a slogan than a way of pacing things: I don't push people past what they're ready to look at, and I pay attention to what makes someone feel safe enough to keep going.

My training runs through CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Focused CBT, so a lot of what we do is concrete. You can expect us to name what's actually happening in a hard moment and then build out real tools for it, especially around emotion regulation. I also lean on mindfulness to help people notice and accept what's going on internally before deciding what to do about it. Early sessions tend to be a mix of me getting the full picture and us mapping out where you want to head. I'll be honest with you about what I'm seeing, and I'll ask you to be honest back, because the plan only works if it's genuinely yours.

Before I came to this work, I spent six years at home raising my kids, which still shapes how I listen. The first step is a straightforward conversation, and we'll sort out the direction together from there.

I'm a therapist specializing in the kind of work that starts with attachment, self-worth, and the patterns in our closest relationships. A lot of what I do centers on people wrestling with trauma, ADHD, boundary issues, gender identity, depression, and anxiety, often folks who've carried it quietly for a long time. I'm an LGBTQIA+ affirming, gender-affirming, BIPOC therapist, and I've worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, populations, and identities, including many who've lived through different kinds of trauma.

My training runs through DBT, CPT, CBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and psychodynamic and solution-focused work, and I'm certified in dialectical behavioral therapy and trauma-focused CBT. But the approach matters less than the fit. I tend to be conversational and direct, non-judgmental about whatever you bring into the room. I'll tell you honestly what I'm seeing, and I'll ask you to do the same. Sessions with me feel less like an interview and more like a real back-and-forth, where we name what's actually going on and figure out where to put your energy.

I've practiced across outpatient mental health, non-profits, private practice, and with the military, so I've sat with people in a lot of different seasons of life. Whatever's been sitting on your mind lately, bring it to a first visit and we'll start sorting through it together.

I'm a therapist, and most of what I see is trauma, anxiety, and depression, along with the things that tend to travel alongside them: patterns of codependency, low self-esteem, and the effort it takes to steady yourself through a big life transition. I've worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings since 2013, treating substance use and mental health concerns, and I'm a Master's Level Certified Addiction Professional in Florida as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

What matters most to me is your individuality. I take a genuinely individualistic approach, because I value and want to protect your autonomy rather than fit you into a formula. I work through the lens of Family Systems and Attachment Theory, and I draw on Existential, Strength-Based, Dialectical Behavior, and Client-Centered ideas, plus 12 Step principles when they're useful. In practice that means our sessions blend real conversation with psychoeducation and concrete coping skills you can actually use. You can expect unconditional positive regard from me, and honesty; I'm here to help you build a life of your own choosing, not the one someone else picked for you.

I think self-care and emotion regulation are skills worth practicing, not just talking about, so we'll move at a pace that respects where you are.

If you're tired of feeling defined by what happened to you and want to start deciding what comes next, let's talk about how to get there together.

I've spent nearly two decades as a licensed clinical mental health counselor treating mood disorders, trauma, and the situational adjustments that can throw a life off balance. Honestly, I'm interested in just about any challenge that's getting in the way of a person's happiness, whether that's a diagnosis someone's lived with for years or a hard season that came out of nowhere. I work with adults and older adults, and I've sat with people from a wide range of backgrounds over the years.

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all plan. Treatment with me is built around you specifically, and I choose the approach based on what your particular challenges call for. My foundation is person-centered work, and I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and trauma therapy, often paired with somatic practices like mindfulness. In practice, that means an early session with me is less about running through a checklist and more about understanding what your day-to-day actually looks like, so we can figure out together where to start. I'll be direct with you about what I'm noticing, and I'll adjust as we go.

Reaching out for help takes something, and I don't take that lightly. If you've read this far, you're already doing part of the work. When you're ready to talk it through, I'll be here.

I've spent years as a therapist working across inpatient and outpatient settings, and I see individuals, couples, families, and groups. Some of the people I work best with are children, teenagers, and older adults navigating change, and I've learned that the same approach rarely fits two people the same way. As an Army brat, a combat veteran, and a retired military spouse, I've lived in a lot of places and sat with a lot of different life experiences, and I think that history shapes how I listen.

My style is eclectic, meaning I adjust to what's actually in front of me rather than running everyone through the same protocol. I treat therapy as a joint effort, and I genuinely mean that: you're the expert on your own experience, and progress tends to come from shared commitment and a little courage on both sides. I start with a thorough assessment so I understand your background, your needs, and where you want to go. From there I keep the dialogue open, including between sessions, and I make sure you're part of building the plan, not just receiving it. When it fits, I draw on training in Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR.

Our first conversation is mostly me asking questions and getting to know how you got here. There's no rush to this. Reach out when the timing feels right for you.

I'm a therapist who focuses on adults and older adults working through anxiety, depression, trauma, mood instability, anger, low self-esteem, and the emotional weight of relationship struggles and life transitions. Over roughly twenty years, I've worked in just about every setting you can name: telehealth, outpatient care, residential programs for youth and adults, Assertive Community Treatment, foster care, inpatient units, intensive in-home services, and private practice. That range taught me that no two people arrive with the same story, so I don't hand out the same plan twice.

My approach is solution-focused and goal-oriented, and it leans hard on your strengths rather than your deficits. I want you to leave a session with a clearer sense of purpose and a bit more room to breathe. Early on, we'll spend time sorting out what's actually getting in your way and what you'd like to be different, and I'll be honest with you about what I'm noticing. Depending on what fits, I draw on trauma-informed care, CBT and trauma-focused CBT, motivational interviewing, collaborative problem solving, and family systems work. If you're coming as a couple or family, we'll look at the patterns between you, not just inside you.

Deciding to talk to someone takes real effort, and getting this far already says something about what you're ready for. When you feel ready to take the next step, I'll be here to help you figure out where to begin.

I'm a therapist, and most of what I see is depression, anxiety, substance use, and the aftereffects of trauma. My background sits at the intersection of mental health counseling and addictions work, and much of how I practice comes from asking how the brain and the autonomic nervous system respond when someone has been through more than their body knew how to hold. I lean on trauma-focused methods like EMDR, Brainspotting, and Polyvagal-informed and mindfulness-based strategies, alongside CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. But those are tools, not the point. The point is helping you understand the cyclical patterns of thought and emotion that shape how you feel, so you're not at their mercy.

I care about body awareness, psychoeducation, and self-advocacy, because I want you to leave therapy able to steer it yourself. Early sessions are less about intervention and more about getting my bearings: what you're up against, what you actually want, and what a personalized path forward looks like. I'll be direct with you, and I'll expect us to work as partners, with real motivation and direction driving the process.

I'm not only interested in getting you to stable ground. I want to see you keep growing into the person you recognize as authentically yourself, whether you're a younger adult or someone doing this work later in life.

Reaching out takes something. If you've made it to the end of this, you've already started.

My work as a therapist centers on substance use disorders and the conditions that often travel alongside them: OCD, anxiety, and major depression. Over more than 23 years across outpatient, inpatient, and telehealth settings, I've spent a lot of time with people who are ready to change something but want more than encouragement. They want practical tools and a clear sense of whether those tools are actually working.

I tend to be structured. I start with a thorough assessment so we can name your goals plainly and build a treatment plan that fits them, then we track progress as we go rather than guessing at it. Much of what I do draws on evidence-based approaches like CBT, ERP for OCD, HRT, DBT, and trauma-focused therapies, and I'll often ask you to practice specific skills between sessions. Expect accountability from me; expect me to name what I'm seeing honestly, and to adjust when something isn't landing. When it helps, I coordinate with the other people involved in your care.

A typical session is focused work. We check in on what you tried since we last met, sort out what got in the way, and decide what to aim at next. I'm compassionate about the difficulty of that and direct about the effort it takes.

If this fits what you're after, I'm happy to talk.

My work as a therapist centers on individual talk therapy with young adults and adults, though I also see children, teens, and older adults when it's a good fit. Life has a way of shifting our focus, sometimes without warning, and much of what I do is help people find their footing again when that happens. I've worked across a range of outpatient settings over the years, from ACTT services to substance use groups to one-on-one therapy, and each of those settings taught me something about how differently people arrive at the same door.

I think of therapy as a shared effort rather than something I do to you. That means I check in regularly to make sure the work still feels useful, and I adjust when it doesn't. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, and I'll balance directive strategies with more open, exploratory conversation depending on what actually lands with you. Early on, expect a first session where you can share your story at your own pace, name what you'd like to work toward, and leave with a clearer sense of what therapy with me will feel like.

Honoring different perspectives matters to me, and so does making sure you feel respected and genuinely heard in the room. If the challenges in front of you have started crowding out everything else, let's talk about how to make room for you again.

I trained as a psychotherapist, and I mostly work across the full span of ages, from children as young as five to older adults, offering talk therapy for the range of struggles that bring people to counseling. Over five years of practice, I've come to believe there's no single path to healing, so I don't arrive with a fixed script. Instead, I pay attention to who you actually are and what you're facing right now, and I build the work from there.

My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed. Depending on what fits, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and psychodynamic work, but I lead with listening before I lead with a method. Early sessions tend to feel like an honest conversation, where we figure out what's getting in your way and start naming the strengths you already carry, even the ones you've stopped noticing. I'll be direct with you, and I'll move at a pace that respects how much courage it takes just to show up.

My aim is practical: to help you use what's genuinely yours to meet life's challenges with more resilience and a clearer sense of purpose. Growth and self-discovery aren't tidy, and I'd consider it a privilege to walk that road alongside you.

Bring whatever's been sitting with you to a first visit, and we'll begin making sense of it together.

I've spent years as a therapist treating PTSD, depression, anxiety, and the kind of stress that wears people down over time. Along the way I've worked in psychiatric facilities, crisis and substance use units, and outpatient settings, with adolescents, adults, seniors, and families. That range taught me to pay close attention to who is actually in front of me rather than the label attached to them.

A lot of what I do is with people wrestling self-defeating thoughts, struggling to set boundaries, trying to communicate better with the people they love, or steadying themselves through a hard life transition. My approach is direct and collaborative. I'll tell you what I'm noticing, and I'll ask you what you want out of this rather than deciding it for you. In a first session, expect me to listen, ask honest questions, and start sketching out goals that actually match your life, drawing on the tools that fit you, whether that's CBT, solution-focused work, mindfulness, or trauma-focused approaches.

I'm also aware of how much stigma still surrounds mental health, particularly in communities that have been taught to tough it out alone. I see reaching out as a sign of strength and resiliency, not weakness. If self-defeating thoughts or a season of change have you feeling stuck, let's sit down and start sorting through it together.

I'm a marriage and family therapist with over 18 years of experience in behavioral health, working with individuals, couples, and families across outpatient, community mental health, and integrated care settings. Along the way I've held clinical leadership roles, including directing mental health programs and overseeing multidisciplinary teams, which shaped how I think about care: as something relational, systems-aware, and grounded in what actually works. I've supported adults of all ages, from those in the thick of midlife pressures to older adults navigating loss, change, and later-life transitions, often with complex, layered concerns.

My approach is conversational and thoughtfully paced. I start by getting to know your history, your relationships, your strengths, and what you're actually hoping to change. Early sessions feel less like an interview and more like a real back-and-forth, where we're sorting out what matters and what a realistic path forward looks like. I care about culturally responsive, individualized care, which means the plan we build reflects your values and lived experience, not a template. I aim for both insight and practical skills, and I stay flexible as your needs shift.

I think good therapy respects the whole person: their family, their history, and the systems they move through every day. If you're looking for a therapist who'll take your context seriously and work alongside you rather than hand down answers, I'd be glad to talk.

I'm a licensed professional counselor with a particular focus on grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and substance use and recovery, drawn from more than ten years of work across outpatient, community-based, and addiction residential treatment settings. A lot of what I see comes down to change that hasn't happened cleanly: a loss that reshaped everything, a life transition that hasn't settled, a relationship straining under chronic stress, or a recovery that needs steady support rather than judgment. Those are the people I do my best work with.

I'm integrative, client-centered, and trauma-informed, and I care about open communication as much as I care about the plan we build. I lean empathetic but goal-oriented; I'll want to understand your history, your current concerns, your strengths, and what actually matters to you before we set anything in motion. Early on, we get clear on where things stand, then shape treatment goals that fit your values, your recovery needs, and the realities of your life. Sessions stay flexible, with regular check-ins so we can see what's working and adjust when it isn't.

Much of this comes back to helping people rebuild self-compassion, confidence, and healthier boundaries, sustainably, not overnight. I also supervise LPC-Associates, which keeps me thinking carefully about how good care is done.

If grief, stress, or the long work of recovery has left you feeling stuck, I'm here and ready to start that conversation with you.
