Mishelle Lockerby, LCMHC, LPC, specializes in supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, life transitions, parenting challenges, and interpersonal conflict. She has extensive experience working with clients facing major depression, severe mental illness, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she has also worked cross-culturally with immigrant and refugee populations.

Mishelle takes a collaborative approach, personalizing therapy to each client’s needs. She fosters a safe, non-judgmental space built on mutual trust, emphasizing interactive, solution-focused, and authentic engagement. She encourages clients to share feedback on what is most helpful in sessions to guide the therapeutic process.

Using an integrative, trauma-informed perspective, Mishelle primarily incorporates cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused strategies. She may also include expressive art, play, or narrative therapy, as well as relaxation and meditation techniques. Avedon received an undergraduate degree at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA; and her master's degree at Hodges University in Ft. Myers, FL. Avedon has been practicing for 8 years as a licensed clinical mental health counselor, and is a firm believer in the person-centered therapy philosophy of "meeting the client where they are at.” She believes in creating a safe environment for all of her clients in order for them to feel secure in expressing their present conflicts, while at the same time gaining and learning coping skills to improve their overall daily functioning.
