Lorangelly Rivera, MD

Dr. Steve Paschos is a board-certified Psychiatrist at Talkiatry. He attended Loyola University Chicago on the Lake Shore campus, completing a bachelor's degree in science and a Degree in Classical Studies. He then attended Medical School at Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed a 5-year combined Internal Medicine & Psychiatry residency in 2011. Dr. Paschos subsequently completed a 1-year fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. He has spent the last 12 years fulfilling his passion for integrating Internal Medicine & Psychiatry, working with a diverse range of patients suffering from severe mental illnesses. ‍Dr. Paschos' years of experience have included working at Cook County Health Services � Cermak Health Services at Cook County Department of Corrections with an extremely diverse patient population with varying psychiatric illnesses. He has also worked as an inpatient psychiatric hospitalist and as the director of the Intensive Care Unit at Chicago Behavioral Hospital in Illinois. Dr. Paschos also acted as a medical director of an IOP and established an outpatient psychiatric practice in conjunction with the Intensive Outpatient Program. He has had the opportunity and privilege of treating individuals who suffer from various diagnoses, especially challenging patients who have suffered from integrated or Med-Psych concerns involving primary mood disorders, Bipolar Affective disorders, prior trauma, severe medical problems/diagnoses along with concurrent personality pathology. ‍Dr. Paschos utilizes supportive psychotherapy, brief cognitive behavioral therapy, and at times psychodynamic therapy to address his patients' current complaints and to identify the locus of their symptoms. He believes in utilizing an all-encompassed approach using mindfulness and various psychotherapies along with comprehensive medication management. Jaime Sather, PMHNP is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 20 years' experience in the mental health field. Specialty areas include ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance abuse, PTSD, and women’s health. Clinical experience with inpatient, outpatient, detoxifications rehab, psychiatric emergency department, IOP, and PHP.

Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and brief psychotherapy are provided. Besides medication management with psychotherapy, individual therapy may be recommended for the best possible patient outcome.

Patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns in a non-judgmental therapeutic environment. Education is provided about diagnosis and treatment options with the patient being empowered to be an active part of their treatment plan.

Dr. Abby Reineck currently serves as an outpatient child and adolescent psychiatrist.  She has been practicing for eleven years.

Dr. Reineck's practice is primarily medication-management services, offered in conjunction with either supportive or eclectic therapy. Follow-up appointments average 30 minutes, but may be more or less. Occasionally, Dr. Reineck believes the addition of a therapist is needed and will request you bring a therapist into your care team. This will be asked of individuals if she believes it will lead to an improved clinical outcome.

Dr. Reineck received her medical degree from Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University, located in Dayton, OH. She completed her psychiatry residency and child-and-adolescent fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, in Hanover, NH.

After completing her training, Dr. Reineck moved to Brattleboro, VT, where she became an attending psychiatrist at The Brattleboro Retreat, working on both the child and adolescent inpatient units. The Brattleboro Retreat's location was such that it served a large number of patients from nearby states, which included New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut  and New York. However, it also served as the only psychiatric inpatient facility for children and adolescents in the entire state of Vermont.

Dr. Reineck also worked as the lead psychiatrist on the inpatient, adult, dual-diagnosis unit. This unit provided care for individuals struggling with addiction and mental-health related issues, some of whom required medically supervised detoxification.  

After roughly five years, Dr. Reineck moved from Vermont to Erie, PA.  She began working at a residential treatment facility for child and adolescent patients who required care in a highly supervised and highly structured setting. Dr. Reineck also began serving as a child and adolescent psychiatrist for patients enrolled in a school-based partial-hospitalization program.  Dr. Reineck gradually transitioned from these roles into strictly outpatient work. She worked as an outpatient psychiatrist in Butler, PA, where she treated child, adolescent, and adult patients. Dr. Reineck eventually narrowed her scope of practice to providing psychiatric treatment for only outpatient children and adolescents.  She did so out of facilities located in Erie and Meadville,  PA.  

Dr. Reineck completed her undergraduate studies at Ohio University. While Dr. Reineck has experience treating a wide variety of patients, her primary focus has been treating children and adolescents with a vast array of presenting concerns.

Dr. Boski Patel holds the position of psychiatrist at Talkiatry. She is double board-certified in geriatric and adult psychiatry and she has been practicing for over 3 years. Dr. Patel's practice focuses on medication management and she typically in conjunction with supportive therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. On occasion, Dr. Patel may believe that additional therapy is also needed and asks that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and then went on to receive her medical degree from Penn State University. Following medical school, she completed general psychiatry residency training at the University of Connecticut where she was Chief resident of outpatient psychiatric services. During that time, she was also chosen as an Honors scholar by the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry. After training, she moved to California to do her geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Stanford. Following her fellowship, she worked at Kaiser Permanente in clinical roles of outpatient, geriatric, and C/L.

Christy Caric-Ball, LPC, earned her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from The University of Texas at Austin and her MA in Clinical Psychology from The University of Texas Pan American. She has worked with underserved girls and women at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine and completed internships in diverse settings, including an intimate partner violence diversion court, a shelter for undocumented minors, and a behavioral health center. Her clinical interests include women’s health, LGBTQIA+ issues, teen adjustment counseling, and trauma-informed care.

Christy’s style is supportive and solution-focused, using evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. She values empowering patients to focus on what they can change while letting go of what is beyond their control. Patients can expect to feel heard, supported, and encouraged as they work toward their wellness goals.

Christy begins by developing rapport and gaining a thorough understanding of each patient’s history. Together, they identify where the patient is now and where they want to be. She creates individualized treatment plans, revisiting and adjusting them as needed to align with evolving goals and promote lasting progress.

Dr. Nina Jacobs is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry with over 20 years of clinical experience. She earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry training at NYU School of Medicine. Additionally, she has specialized training in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. Before joining Talkiatry, she served as Chief of Adult Behavioral Health at a busy urban community health clinic.

Dr. Jacobs believes that understanding and compassion are fundamental to effective psychiatric care. She provides engaged, patient-centered treatment, focusing on reducing symptoms and restoring well-being. Her approach includes comprehensive evaluations, thoughtful medication management, supportive therapy, and the development of stress management skills. She treats youth ages 13-17 and adults with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. For adolescent patients, she includes parental involvement during a portion of appointments to discuss progress and treatment plans.
