Shannon Curry, LMHC

Shannon Curry has been providing mental health therapy since 2016. She received her degrees from Plattsburgh State University. Shannon has worked in a variety of settings from mental health clinics, substance use and addictions clinics, along with providing treatment in correctional facilities. Shannon helped to establish a Medication Assisted Treatment Program for a New York State County Jail. She also has experience in treating people with issues with gambling. Shannon uses an eclectic approach in treatment to provide client-centered care. The most common therapeutic styles she uses are DBT, CBT, solution focused, narrative therapy, feminist therapy, and person-centered therapy. Her primary clinical focus has been in treating adults with more serious and persistent mental illness and issues of addiction. Shannon believes in a holistic approach to therapy and supports people in identifying the more complex factors that contribute to distressing symptoms while focusing on the resiliency human beings possess. He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He has experience in both inpatient and outpatient care and brings expertise in ADHD, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, bipolar depression, OCD, and a wide range of psychiatric conditions.

Dr. Brahmbhatt creates a warm, collaborative environment where patients feel heard and respected. He values open communication and works with patients to set meaningful, realistic goals at a pace that feels comfortable. Using evidence-based treatments, he explains the reasoning behind each approach so patients feel informed and empowered throughout their care.

In the first session, Dr. Brahmbhatt takes time to understand each patient’s history, concerns, and goals. Together, they identify key areas of focus and build an individualized treatment plan. Dr. Cheryl Thomas' experience spans nearly two decades working with many who struggle to find their way through different life challenges. She will collaborate with you to identify and attain goals. Getting to know you is the first step and that is achieved through a variety of approaches that are grounded in family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, and understanding any types of trauma that may have been experienced. Many have had trauma and what she has learned is that talking about the details of the trauma is not always helpful. It may be a component of healing, but there may be other ways to make progress. Dr. Thomas utilizes a combination of approaches to be helpful in working with clients. Some may include person-centered, solution focused, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing. She has experience in different treatment settings in Ohio and enjoys working with those who have mental health and substance use disorders. Dr. Thomas works with ages 18 and up that include mental health issues like depression, anxiety, grief, stress management, trauma, communication, and relationship issues. She enjoys seeing a client shift perspectives and report feeling more at peace as they reach their goals.
