Connika Green, LCSW

Connika Green is an LCSW whose passion for helping others was inspired by her upbringing in Memphis, Tennessee. Her parents founded a nonprofit organization to support individuals recovering from substance use and assist those experiencing homelessness. Watching their dedication to service instilled in her a lifelong commitment to helping others. After high school, Connika joined the U.S. Air Force, where she served as a combat veteran during a tour in Afghanistan. Her military experience helped her develop teamwork, discipline, and cultural competence through working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She also completed an internship on a military installation and worked for a year at the Veterans Affairs hospital, combining her personal and professional understanding of the unique challenges faced by service members and veterans. Connika earned her bachelor's degree in Social Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her master's degree in Social Work from Salisbury University in Maryland. Connika has extensive experience as a therapist in community mental health agencies, a school mental health counselor, and in teletherapy. She specializes in treating mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and substance use issues. She provides a warm, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment where clients feel safe to explore challenges and build resilience. Connika is passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals and create meaningful, lasting change.

Komal Shah, MD

Dr. Komal Shah, M.D. is double board certified in adult & geriatric psychiatry. She did her residency at Nassau University Medical Center, New York & then did fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at LIJ-Albert Einstein school, New York. She has been practicing psychiatry for over 25 years.  

Dr. Shah has extensive experience in evaluating & managing a variety of psychiatric disorders such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, dementia, etc. She held an academic position as a clinical assistant professor at Rutgers-UBHC for several years. Dr. Shah has worked in various clinical settings including inpatient, outpatient clinics, partial hospital programs, nursing homes, thus serving vast variety of patient populations. She has also volunteered her services at NAMI (National Alliance for mental illness)-SAMHAJ to create & promote awareness of mental health issues in the community. All this makes her a very well experienced & efficient psychiatrist.  

Dr. Komal Shah believes in creating a strong therapeutic alliance first with her patients based on mutual trust & honesty. Her primary modality of treatment is medication management, but she may also provide supportive psychotherapy and education, practicing evidence-based medicine. Darlene Browning is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she is licensed in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. She has been a Social Worker since 2001 has an undergraduate degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she completed in 1992 with a B.S. in Science and majored in Criminal Justice. She then started working as a Correction Counselor with the NYC Department Corrections for few years, working with female inmates who had substance abuse problem and adolescence as well. She facilitated treatment recovery groups and psycho education . In 1998, she worked as with the Administration for Children Services while she was pursuing her Master's Degree degree from Hunter College School of Social Work where she graduated in 2001 with her MSW.

For 19 years she worked as a Discharge Planner in the hospital while attending Metropolitan Institute for Mental Health to study in the Adult Psychoanalytic Division, in 2012, Darlene decided to switch gears and began working as Behavorial Health  Care Manager , while starting her own private practice in the mist of the pandemic. Her practice is called " Live the Life you Want ", because she strongly believes that all individuals should live their own lives the way they want to and desire.

In 2022, Darlene  received a two year certificate in Integrated Trauma from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy where she received training in EMDR , Somatic experiencing and  i is currently working obtaining a certification on becoming an  Accelerated Experiential Psychodynamic Psychotherapist  , which is a experiential model that seeks to alleviate patients psychological suffering by helping them process the overwhelming emotions associated with trauma, depression and anxiety.

Darlene Browning has been in the in the mental health for over 30 years.  She continues provide psychotherapy with an eclectic, person-centered, and non-judgmental approach.  Darlene Browning style provides a safe, secure, and empathetic warm environment.  Darlene quotes “ The world can be scary, cold, and insensitive place to be and there is a lot of uncertainty going around, but together we can get through it “.  Although Darlene Browning is part of the of the BIPOC community, she welcomes all Races, creeds and religion. Gihan Abdel Razik, MD

Dr Razik is a board-certified psychiatrist who has been practicing for over 20 years. Throughout her career she has helped thousands of patients overcome their mental health struggles through medication management and a combination of supportive and psychodynamic psychotherapy. She graduated from Ain Shams University School of Medicine in 1992 and went on to do her psychiatry residency training at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, after which she became board-certified as Dr. Razik has practiced psychiatry in various settings including private practice where she has experience managing patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, panic disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder. Early on in her career she worked with veterans at the Dayton VA Medical Center as well as with the severely mentally ill patients in community mental health. Dr. Razik lives in Mason, Ohio. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Lauren Morris, MD

Dr. Lauren Morris is a board-certified psychiatrist and a graduate of the Duke Psychiatry residency program. She is originally from NC - she studied Neuroscience at NCSU, and attended medical school at ECU. Dr. Morris's practice focuses on medication management, and incorporates insight-oriented therapy during visits. Dr. Morris takes a patient-centered evidenced based approach to psychiatry. Dr. Morris is joining the Talkiatry team after working as a staff psychiatrist at the Durham VA, where she also served as a consulting professor for the Duke psychiatry residency program. In her free time, Dr. Morris enjoys hiking and traveling.

Brittney is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York. She attended SUNY Buffalo where she obtained a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Education with a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Mental Health Counseling. Brittney started her career as a School Counselor before transitioning full-time to Mental Health Counselor. Brittney is an empathetic and open-minded clinician, striving to meet her clients where they are, build trust, and maintain a safe, non-judgmental environment. She is experienced and passionate about working with teens and adults with various forms of trauma. Additionally, Brittney utilizes SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) for families impacted by anxiety and OCD to help them understand the impact these experiences have on their lives, ultimately finding the resolutions and outcomes they hope for. While EMDR therapy is her primary treatment approach for individuals, or SPACE for families, she also utilizes ACT, Parts Work, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and others.
