Tara Merchant is a person-centered, nonjudgmental, relationship-based LMHC (licensed mental health counselor) who recognizes the intrinsic value of all people and holds positive regard for all her clients. Tara views counseling as a collaborative effort that provides psychoeducation and coping skills for the obstacles with which clients may be struggling, and clients provide insights as experts on themselves. Tara aims to uphold cultural humility for ongoing learning and awareness that supports racial and social equity. Lisha Jones is a licensed clinical social worker with over 23 years of extensive experience working in the mental health field. She attended undergraduate school in Albany, GA, and graduate school in Valdosta, GA. Elisabeth Davis is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with an MA, licensed in both Kentucky and Ohio. She is also a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider. Her professional journey has been eclectic and wide-ranging, allowing her to work with a diverse range of populations and issues. She specializes in areas such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma from physical and sexual abuse, family and relationship issues, parenting problems, and LGBTQIA+ support. Additionally, she has significant experience working with the military and providing education and career counseling.

One of her main goals is to make counseling / therapy "user friendly. "  Many people are apprehensive about starting therapy, and from the first session she tries to create an atmosphere where they feel safe and supported. Brittiny believes in achieving high-quality work as a therapist, which means meeting an individual where they are. In your first session together, you and Brittiny start by getting to know each other and getting some background information. You'll then discuss what brings you to therapy and your goals, which will help you and Brittiny create a treatment plan, customized for you. Depending on the client, she might assign homework in between session. Which can include worksheets, journaling exercises, a little research on different disorders, or self-help books to help you better recognize and manage your diagnosis. However, it is always up to the client.

Wendy Espino Barajas, LMFT

Wendy Barajas is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 15 years of experience working in community mental health outpatient settings. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles and her master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix. Wendy works primarily with adults and couples and also enjoys supporting children and teens. As a first-generation Latina, she understands the challenges of navigating bicultural identity and generational trauma.

Wendy supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, workplace or school concerns, peer challenges, and sexuality-related issues. She believes clients are the experts in their own lives and partners with them to find balance and clarity. Wendy integrates humor into sessions when appropriate and brings a firm yet friendly, honest, and down-to-earth approach. She adapts her communication style to meet each client’s needs and enjoys celebrating progress and accomplishments.

Clients can expect to feel heard and seen from the first session. Wendy focuses on building connection, understanding what led clients to prioritize their mental health, and establishing trust.
