Mark Helms, MD

Dr. Helms is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He completed his General Psychiatry and Child/Adolescent fellowship training at the University of Texas, Health Science Center at San Antonio. He has over 25 years of experience as a psychiatrist treating patients of all ages (child, adolescent, and adult�including geriatric) while working in a multitude of treatment settings including outpatient clinics and psychiatric hospitals. He also has several years of experience working as a psychiatric consultant for medical-surgical hospitals, seeing an extensive variety of patients on all floors of the hospital from mother-baby to pediatrics, as well as adult patients on the medical and surgical floors. Dr. Helms takes with him into each patient encounter, his wide breadth of experience and his genuine care and concern for each and every individual patient. He provides both medication treatment and talk therapy. He understands that many patients greatly benefit from either short or long term medication treatment; however, he also understands that talk therapy can oftentimes lead to significant, long lasting positive change, personal growth, and improvements in occupational and relationship success. Marsha Wheatley, MD

What has motivated Dr. Wheatley over the course of her career as a caregiver? Dr. Wheatley is a native Houstonian who grew up in a working-class community. Through curiosity and hard work, she was able to attend a university that included people of vastly different life experiences. She was molded by both communities to appreciate the commonalities of humanity. That broad exposure extended her empathetic spectrum to grasp the needs of the American diaspora.

Dr. Wheatley uses a biopsychosocial approach to evaluate the patient. She gathers patient history with a mindset that considers the neuroscience that chemically shapes mood, thoughts, and behavior. She is able to uncover factors that can inhibit psychological growth and development. She has experience in seeing how the social conditions of the “then” can influence the resiliency of the “now”. Dr. Wheatley appreciates, and is proficient in, advances in technology, but prioritizes the analog relationship between doctor and patient.

Meeting people where they are. It is an old trope, but describes how one allows a patient to set the path forward. An open-ended interview is conducted with an open mind towards resolution. When being evaluated and treated by Dr. Wheatley, a patient can expect to be met in a cordial but professional manner. Stephen Hawk, DO

Dr. Stephen Hawk is a board-certified psychiatrist with 25 years of experience. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of South Florida, Tampa. He has served in private practice and held leadership roles at the Veterans Administration, including Chief of Mental Health at Bay Pines VA. He led the launch of the VA Suicide Prevention 2.0 Telehealth Program and has training in AI in medicine.

Dr. Hawk combines talking therapies, neuromodulation, and modern psychopharmacology in a collaborative and empathic style. He focuses on family dynamics and integrates psychodynamic and biopsychosocial approaches, using creativity and open dialogue to tailor care.

Benita Dieperink, MD

Dr. Benita Dieperink, MD, is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She has extensive experience in private practice, academic leadership, and faculty roles, with expertise in treating diverse adult populations. She specializes in perinatal and reproductive psychiatry, supporting patients through pregnancy, postpartum, PMS, infertility, and perimenopause/menopause, as well as mood, anxiety, trauma-related, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Dr. Dieperink values open communication and a collaborative approach, creating a warm, supportive environment where patients feel heard and respected. She integrates psychopharmacology and psychotherapy to help patients work toward clear treatment goals, while fostering a growth- and strengths-based perspective. She also draws on a wide range of interests—from medical science to psychology and history—to enrich patient education.

Ian Provo, LCSW

Ian Provo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is also certified in Complex Trauma treatment. He has held a clinical license for 27 years, where he has worked in a number of capacities as a mental health professional, including Clinical Director, Director of Treatment, private practice, direct care services, and case management. Ian completed his Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and his Master's Degree from the University of Illinois. Ian is passionate about his work and believes strongly in the human potential and resilience in overcoming life's obstacles and barriers. His therapeutic model focuses on multidimensional modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic model, psychoeducational approaches, and mindfulness techniques. Ian has vast experience in working with victims of sexual abuse and trauma in addition to treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD and providing couple's therapy. In addition to his professional work, Ian is actively engaged in volunteer work where he helps victims of sexual human trafficking, providing clinical assessments and engaging in public awareness campaigns. He recently composed, produced, and directed an anti-human trafficking music video for an organization.
