Rita Shaughnessy, MD

Dr. Alfers is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in adult psychiatry. He has been practicing for over 11 years. He completed his undergraduate education at Virginia Tech, graduating Cum Laude with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. Following graduation, he attended a research internship at the National Institutes of Health where he received a Post-baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award. Dr. Alfers completed his medical degree from the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. He completed his General Psychiatry Residency at Georgetown University, where he served as Chief Resident. After residency, he entered private practice in McLean, VA. Dr. Alfers provides interpersonal psychotherapy in conjunction with medication management services. Dr. Abby Reineck currently serves as an outpatient child and adolescent psychiatrist. She has been practicing for 13 years. Dr. Reineck's practice primarily offers medication-management services in conjunction with either supportive or eclectic therapy. Follow-up appointments average 30 minutes, but may be more or less. Occasionally, Dr. Reineck believes the addition of a therapist is needed and will request you bring a therapist into your care team. This will be asked of individuals if she believes it will lead to an improved clinical outcome. Reineck received her medical degree from Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University, located in Dayton, OH. She completed her psychiatry residency and child and adolescent fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, in Hanover, NH. After completing her training, Dr. Reineck moved to Brattleboro, VT, where she became an attending psychiatrist at The Brattleboro Retreat, working on both the child and adolescent inpatient units. The Brattleboro Retreat's location was such that it served a large number of patients from nearby states, which included New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York. However, it also served as the only psychiatric inpatient facility for children and adolescents in the entire state of Vermont. Dr. Reineck also worked as the lead psychiatrist on the inpatient, adult, dual-diagnosis unit. This unit provided care for individuals struggling with addiction and mental-health related issues, some of whom required medically supervised detoxification. After roughly five years, Dr. Reineck moved from Vermont to Erie, PA. She began working at a residential treatment facility for child and adolescent patients who required care in a highly supervised and highly structured setting. Dr. Reineck also began serving as a child and adolescent psychiatrist for patients enrolled in a school-based partial-hospitalization program. Dr. Reineck gradually transitioned from these roles into strictly outpatient work. She worked as an outpatient psychiatrist in Butler, PA, where she treated child, adolescent, and adult patients. Dr. Reineck eventually narrowed her scope of practice to providing psychiatric treatment for only outpatient children and adolescents. She did so out of facilities located in Erie and Meadville, PA. Drr. Reineck completed her undergraduate studies at Ohio University. While Dr. Reineck has experience treating a wide variety of patients, her primary focus has been treating children and adolescents with a vast array of presenting concerns.

Dr. Wasser is a staff psychiatrist at Talkiatry, dedicated to providing compassionate and effective care through telepsychiatry. He completed his undergraduate studies at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he focused on Neuroscience and Pre-Medical studies. Subsequently, he pursued his medical degree at Rocky Vista University in Parker, Colorado before completing his psychiatry residency at HCA Aurora in Aurora, Colorado. Dr. Wasser was the recipient of the Chairman's Crystal Distinction of Excellence Award, rewarding a resident's exemplary performance and endorsing a resident's future success in the field of psychiatry. With a strong foundation in both neuroscience and psychiatry, Dr. Wasser approaches each patient with a deep understanding of the mind-body connection and the complexities of mental health. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife and family, staying active through exercise, relaxing at the Jersey Shore, and exploring new travel destinations.

He obtained his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency training at Authority Health, an affiliate of Michigan State University. In addition, he has completed a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Fellowship from the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute. He has 4 years of clinical experience. Dr. Patel's practice focuses primarily on medication management. Follow-up appointments typically last 30 minutes and incorporate elements of supportive psychotherapy, CBT, and motivational interviewing. Dr. Patel utilizes a collaborative approach to treatment, ensuring that treatment plans align with patients' goals and values. Dr. Patel has extensive clinical experience in various psychiatric settings including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. He has treated patients of various ages and of diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds. He has extensive training in the community mental health system, where he has treated patients with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. Dr. Patel practices general adult psychiatry.
