Ruben Mendez, MD

Dr. Mendez obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He subsequently completed his Psychiatry residency training at the same institution, UT Medical School in Houston. Dr. Mendez has extensive training in the field and is board certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. After professional training, Dr. Mendez has had vast experience of 15 years primarily in the outpatient setting including ample experience with telemedicine services to patients. He has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating adult patients dealing with attention deficit disorders and a wide spectrum of adjustment and anxiety disorders. Dr. Mendez has a special interest in the treatment of mood disorders from Major Depression to Bipolar spectrum disorders. Dr. Mendez prioritizes the development of great communication, mutual understanding and trust with his patients as he finds these elements to be key to a successful treatment. Angie Catlin, PMHNP

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Angie Catlin DNP has been working in mental health for over a decade. She has experience working inpatient, outpatient, and intensive outpatient clinics. She has also worked as a provider in residential care centers and long-term care. She began as a BSN nurse, after graduating from Pittstate University in Kansas, in the critical care field before finding psychiatry at an inpatient child and adolescent hospital. Working with young patients in crisis led her to want to continue her education to become a psychiatric provider to address lack of access to care for those with mental health needs. Angie continued to help ensure those in need have access to care, and assisting her patients obtain the best outcomes became her passion.

She then enrolled in a dual master’s program to obtain her Master’s in Nursing and Master’s in Business for health care administration as she wanted to gather as much knowledge as she could on the barriers to care and to address those barriers. After finishing her dual Master’s with a MSN and MBA/HA from University of Phoenix, she enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at University of Missouri in Columbia to become a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. While in her Doctorate program she completed residencies in rural outpatient clinics, urban outpatient clinics, and nursing homes to understand the barriers for patients of all age groups in each level of care. Since graduating from Mizzou, Angie maintained her zealousness in making care available to all; working with diverse populations in every setting. She enjoys reading up on the latest research pertinent to her clients, including new medications and treatments on the horizon. Angie is an avid football fan and enjoys cooking, reading, live music, and spending quality time with her family including her Saint Bernard and two English bull dogs during her downtime.

Angie Catlin DNP has worked with patients suffering from anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, ADHD personality disorders, learning disabilities, insomnia, Autism, bipolar disorder, Alzheimer’s and dementia, Parkinson’s, Psychosis, Depression, Schizoaffective disorder, and schizophrenia. Angie has always been an advocate for those with mental health issues and is willing to do what is needed to help patient’s feel supported, educating her patients on current treatments and treatment options, and best practices. Moreover, Angie advocates for LGBT issues and understands the issues facing those who are LGBT in society.

She is compassionate about the care she provides as she wants patients to achieve their best life. She will always spend time with patients discussing medications to ensure decisions are a team decision between patient and provider. She has always included counseling and education as part of her practice to ensure her patient receive best evidenced based outcomes She believes that psychiatric care decisions should be made with the patient, not for the patient, so patients feel heard respected and understood.

Angie Catlin DNP begins her sessions with new patients by gathering a thorough history including family history, medical history, surgical history, medication and psychiatric history. This ensures that the whole patient is treated and their entire histories are considered in influencing how the patient came to her and what their issues may be. Angie is careful to listen to each patient and assess what is important to them along with goals they may have for their treatment. Angie collaborates with her patients in a team approach to develop treatment plans that the patient feels comfortable with in achieving their goals.

Sheila Henry, PMHNP

Sheila Henry, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, ANP-BC, is a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 12 years of clinical experience. She earned her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of Michigan and her Adult Nurse Practitioner certification from Wayne State University. Sheila has provided care across inpatient, consultation-liaison, crisis intervention, and outpatient settings, treating a wide range of mental health conditions.

Sheila is dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate, and collaborative environment where patients feel heard and supported. She values open communication and works to build strong therapeutic relationships, empowering patients to take an active role in their mental health journey. She believes in tailoring treatment to each individual and takes time to ensure her patients feel understood, respected, and engaged.

Cecilia Wild, PMHNP

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Cecilia Wild is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a strong background in treating patients across the mental health spectrum. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Illinois State University and began her career in a women’s residential facility specializing in mood disorders, eating disorders, and PTSD. She then transitioned to inpatient adolescent psychiatry, where she became a charge nurse and obtained her Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Inspired by her passion for mental health, she pursued her master's degree at the University of St. Francis to become a PMHNP.  

Cecilia has extensive experience treating patients at all levels of care, including inpatient, PHP/IOP, and outpatient settings. She later transitioned to telehealth, providing medication management to college students. She is passionate about mental health advocacy, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community.  

Cecilia takes a team-based, individualized approach to care. She believes in the importance of education, open communication, and empowering patients in their treatment journey. She emphasizes a holistic perspective, incorporating medication management, therapy, and lifestyle modifications.

Kerstin Asquith, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Kerstin Asquith is a board-certified psychiatrist at Talkiatry. She has extensive experience working with a wide range of diagnoses and patient populations, with particular interest in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD. She also has additional training in college mental health. Dr. Asquith believes in the importance of getting to know each of her patients and the unique issues that bring them into treatment. Dr. Asquith is from California and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis. She subsequently completed a fellowship in student mental health at Stanford University. Most recently, Dr. Asquith worked as an outpatient psychiatrist at The Permanente Medical Group. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with friends and family.

Ying Wang, MD

Dr. Wang is a board-certified psychiatrist in both General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry, with extensive experience in providing compassionate, evidence based to mental healthcare. She currently serves as an outpatient psychiatrist providing care to veterans, where she integrates evidence-based medication management with psychotherapy. Dr. Wang completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she also contributed to clinical education through supervising residents and conducting quality improvement initiatives.

Dr. Wang believes in crafting individualized treatment plans that address both the biological and psychological aspects of mental illness. She specializes in the combined use of psychotherapy and medication management to support long-term healing. Dr. Wang encourages her patients to become active participants in their recovery process and empowers them to grow into their own healers. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes insight, autonomy, and long-term well-being.
