FAQs

What conditions does Talkiatry treat?

Is there a cost to my health system?

We treat a broad range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, insomnia, and substance use disorder. Our psychiatrists see patients across age groups and life stages, including child and adolescent care and postpartum psychiatry.

How do I know which condition applies to me?

Is there a cost to my health system?

You don’t need a diagnosis (or a referral) before making an appointment with a Talkiatry psychiatrist. First visits are scheduled for an hour or longer to give you and your clinician time to talk, to review your history, to hear about your story and what you’re experiencing. Even if you have an existing diagnosis, it’s important for your Talkiatry clinician to do a thorough examination so they can create the best possible treatment plan for your unique needs and goals.

Can I be treated for more than one condition at the same time?

Is there a cost to my health system?

Yes. Many mental health conditions can be “co-occurring,” meaning they coexist and present at the same time. Your first visit is always a thorough evaluation of your symptoms and experiences. During your appointment, your clinician will be asking questions and starting to form a complete picture of what condition or conditions you may be experiencing, so your treatment plan is comprehensive.

Is online psychiatry effective for treating these conditions?

Is there a cost to my health system?

For many conditions, virtual psychiatry is as effective as in-person care. Online appointments can also be easier to schedule, easier to fit into packed schedules, and more convenient.

Does insurance cover psychiatric treatment at Talkiatry?

Is there a cost to my health system?

All our psychiatrists take insurance. Full stop. And we’re in-network with thousands of plans. During intake, we’ll check the details of your insurance to make sure your clinician is in-network with your plan.
