I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist at Talkiatry. I received my medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine and completed my psychiatry residency training at Mount Sinai Morningside West.

My clinical focus includes ADHD, PTSD, and personality disorders, and I bring an integrative lens to psychiatric care.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist, DO, DABPN (he/his), with experience across inpatient and outpatient settings. I have held leadership roles including Interim Medical Director and Director at Richard Young Hospital, where I also created and led the hospital's ECT program.

Care begins with a comprehensive intake that explores medical, psychiatric, social, and functional aspects of a patient's life. Session length and frequency are tailored to individual needs. Treatment plans are developed collaboratively and may include medication management combined with talk therapy and other evidence-based interventions. Progress is reviewed regularly and adjusted based on ongoing dialogue.

I earned my medical degree at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha and completed my Psychiatry residency at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix. I went on to complete an Addiction Psychiatry fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University. During training, I was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, reflecting my commitment to compassionate care. I am board-certified in general psychiatry and have experience working in outpatient, residential, and inpatient settings.

I am a staff psychiatrist who provides thoughtful, evidence-based care for adults facing a wide range of difficulties. I am committed to creating a welcoming, collaborative space where patients from all backgrounds, including but not limited to the LGBTQ+ community, feel heard and supported. New patients can expect a personalized approach that includes discussion of both medication and therapy. I value understanding your treatment preferences and aim to serve as a consultant and collaborator in identifying the best path forward. I believe that developing a shared understanding of your background and current difficulties is essential to effective treatment. I am well-trained in using a wide range of medications and interventions alongside talk therapy, especially cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). My approach emphasizes flexibility, autonomy, and curiosity, with a focus on symptom relief and deeper self-understanding.

I earned my undergraduate degree in chemistry from Dartmouth College and my medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine, where I received the Richard Kohl Prize for Excellence in Psychiatry. I completed my psychiatry residency at Harvard-Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where I served as chief resident of the Consult-Liaison/Emergency Department Psychiatry service. I have also conducted research on Alzheimer's disease and health system economics.

My goal when working with patients is to not come to a generic diagnosis; rather, it is to get to know about the client and try and manage their symptoms in the best way possible. Overall, the process is collaborative, and both parties need to be comfortable with the decisions moving forward. I enjoy getting to learn about patients and working collaboratively to provide the best treatment possible, be it medications or talk therapy. I have vast experience treating Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, among many others.

I graduated residency from University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve University in 2015. After residency, I worked at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center as a staff psychiatrist. I eventually took on the role of Mental Health Lead Psychiatrist and Interim Clinic Director at the Tomball VA Outpatient Clinic. I then transferred to a telepsychiatry role at VISN 15, providing mental health coverage for rural areas in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois. I have over 15 years of experience in treating different mental health conditions and am currently board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

I reside in Houston, Texas and enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and watching/playing sports such as Football, Basketball, and Soccer.

My philosophy of practice is to collaborate with patients and work together with them so that they can lead symptom-free, productive, and stable lives. As an adult psychiatrist, I have extensive theoretical knowledge of the nervous system and its disorders and more than 10 years of experience in treating various mental illnesses including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, autism-spectrum and neuropsychiatric disorders, psychiatric emergencies and crisis management, as well as cognitive behavioral and supportive psychotherapy.

I am board-certified in Psychiatry and hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience. I graduated cum laude from Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical School, completed my residency training in Neurology, and am Turkish board-certified in clinical Neurology. I then moved to the U.S. and finished my Ph.D. in cellular Neuroscience at Cornell University Graduate School of Medical Sciences. I completed my psychiatry residency training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, and subsequently my clinical fellowship in Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program at Columbia University Medical College, New York Presbyterian Hospital.

I have practiced in various settings including Bellevue Hospital, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia Doctors Faculty Practice Office, and Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Morningside Hospitals. I have held academic appointments at New York University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry; New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical College Department of Psychiatry; New York State Psychiatric Institute; and Mount Sinai School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. I have spent most of my professional career supervising and teaching medical students, psychiatry residents, and nurse practitioners. At Columbia Doctors, I collaborated closely with the Lieber Recovery Clinic, treating young adults with various mental illnesses.
