I am a board-certified psychiatrist with over 10 years of experience. I hold a Doctor of Medicine degree from UT Southwestern Medical School and completed my medical specialty training in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. I have served as faculty at UT Southwestern, teaching medical students and mentoring psychiatry residents. I am a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

I completed my psychiatry residency training at Trinity Health Hospital in Livonia, MI, where I was selected to be chief resident. Prior to this, I received my undergraduate bachelor's degree in Neurology and Anthropology from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, and my medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I also completed the psychodynamic psychotherapy fellowship from the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.

I earned my medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX and completed my psychiatry residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. I have experience in both outpatient and inpatient care through my work at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX, where I served veterans and caregivers. As a faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine, I also taught and supervised medical students and residents.

My goal when working with patients is to not come to a generic diagnosis; rather, it is to get to know about the client and try and manage their symptoms in the best way possible. Overall, the process is collaborative, and both parties need to be comfortable with the decisions moving forward. I enjoy getting to learn about patients and working collaboratively to provide the best treatment possible, be it medications or talk therapy. I graduated residency from University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve University in 2015. After residency, I worked at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center as a staff psychiatrist. I eventually took on the role of Mental Health Lead Psychiatrist and Interim Clinic Director at the Tomball VA Outpatient Clinic. I then transferred to a telepsychiatry role at VISN 15, providing mental health coverage for rural areas in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois. I have over 15 years of experience in treating different mental health conditions and am currently board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

I reside in Houston, Texas and enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and watching/playing sports such as Football, Basketball, and Soccer.

At UTHealth, I also served as clinical faculty in one of the nation's largest inpatient psychiatric campuses and am experienced in treating a wide range of adult mental illnesses including mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD.
