Biography
Samantha Hanson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR) with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Art Therapy, from Springfield College in Massachusetts. With 11 years of licensed experience, she has provided care across residential, inpatient, day-treatment, and outpatient settings, working with children through older adults. She is an active member of the American Art Therapy Association and the American Counseling Association.
Samantha provides virtual care for residents of Wisconsin, Colorado, and Florida, with Missouri coming soon. She uses a client-centered, trauma-informed, humanistic, and narrative approach while incorporating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). When desired, she integrates traditional counseling with art therapy in ways that are meaningful and adaptable to telehealth. She also offers Creative Clini-Coach®️ services for individuals seeking professional guidance and accountability outside of therapy.
