What is therapeutic alliance?

Therapeutic alliance refers to the strength of the relationship between you, the patient, and your doctor or therapist. Research suggests that a strong therapeutic alliance leads to better outcomes for patients. In other words, the more connected you feel to your doctor, the more successful your treatment will be.

Certain factors like how involved you feel in your treatment plan and whether you feel like your psychiatrist listens to you, addresses your concerns, and offers empathy, all contribute to therapeutic alliance.

We care deeply about providing an environment where you feel you can build a therapeutic relationship with your psychiatrist. Opening up can feel vulnerable. Our goal is for all our patients to feel listened to and understood. At Talkiatry, care is always a conversation.
