Biography
I have practiced as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2016 and as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2000, providing comprehensive care across the lifespan. I earned both my Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degrees from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and am board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I also serve as a professor in Clarkson College’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program.
I believe in treating the whole person, not just a diagnosis. I consider physical and emotional health, family, stressors, and environment when developing care. I use evidence-based practices while tailoring treatment to each patient’s unique needs. I strive to provide safe, respectful, thorough care and treat every patient with the compassion, honesty, and dignity I would want for my own family.
I begin by building rapport and creating a safe environment for open communication. I complete a comprehensive assessment, then work collaboratively with patients to establish realistic goals. Together, we develop an individualized, evidence-based plan that may include medication management and cognitive behavioral therapy. I provide education, monitor progress, adjust treatment as needed, and support long-term wellness through ongoing, compassionate care.
