I am a board-eligible psychiatrist who provides comprehensive patient care while building a physician-patient relationship centered on communication, empathy, and respect. My primary focus is medication management, and I also provide supportive psychotherapy to help patients work toward long-term improvements. While aligning treatment toward patient goals, I take a practical approach to changes that can be made to empower patients in their lives.

I am a graduate of the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program at the CUNY School of Medicine, a 7-year BS/MD program. I completed my residency training in psychiatry at the Zucker School of Medicine/Northwell Health at Mather Hospital. I have trained in many settings including inpatient psychiatric units, general and specialized outpatient clinics, and at a partial hospitalization program.

I have experience treating a broad range of mental health conditions including depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and OCD. I understand that people may experience these conditions in different ways, and I aim to treat each patient in an individualized and holistic way.

I am an experienced general psychiatrist specializing in LGBTQ+ and women's mental health. I previously directed UIC's psychiatric Gender and Sexuality Clinic, providing LGBTQ+ affirming care with an emphasis on support for gender-expansive patients. I have contributed to the National Curriculum on Reproductive Psychiatry and continue to manage mental health issues during pregnancy and postpartum. My other clinical interests include PTSD, ADHD, co-occurring medical conditions, and culturally sensitive care. I value warmth, curiosity, and shared decision-making. Initial sessions focus on comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and understanding individual goals. From there, I work with patients to develop treatment plans that may combine medication management, supportive therapy, and positive lifestyle changes.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist based in Chicago, IL. I earned my medical and public health degrees from the University of Michigan, then completed residency training at the University of Illinois - Chicago. I served on the UIC faculty as an attending psychiatrist for several years before joining Talkiatry.

I provide psychiatric medication management as well as a combination of therapeutic interventions such as supportive, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, and lifestyle interventions. I am adept at incorporating psychotherapy principles in all patient care encounters and am trained in treating multiple disorders and diagnoses including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as others.

I completed my psychiatry residency training at Trinity Health Hospital in Livonia, MI, where I was selected to be chief resident. Prior to this, I received my undergraduate bachelor's degree in Neurology and Anthropology from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, and my medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I also completed the psychodynamic psychotherapy fellowship from the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.

I have experience treating adult patients of all ages in multiple treatment settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals, and emergency departments.
