Megan Tusken, MD

Dr. Lauren McClairen is a psychiatrist board certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. She completed her medical and psychiatric training at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN and a fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Baptist Memorial Hospital in collaboration with IAC (Integrated Addiction Care) in Memphis, TN. Dr. McClairen has clinical experience and practice working with other specialties and disciplines in treatment teams and integrated care models both in the inpatient and outpatient setting. She has held an academic appointment at Baptist Memorial Hospital where she enjoyed teaching and supervising medical residents and fellows in training. She most recently served as the Regional Behavioral Health Medical Director for a group of mental health clinics throughout Tennessee, and as the Chief of Psychiatric Services for a residential treatment facility in Mississippi that also had Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient Programming (PHP/IOP). She is experienced in treating patients with a variety of mental health diagnoses including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and those with a history of substance use disorders. Dr. McClairen works collaboratively with her patients to provide treatments tailored to each patient's individualized needs. She prioritizes building trusting relationships and fostering open communication. Dr. Lisa Oliveri is a double board-certified psychiatrist in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Florida, followed by medical school at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. She completed both her residency in Psychiatry and fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Since graduating from fellowship, Dr. Oliveri has held an academic appointment at the University of Miami, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and serving as the Miami Veterans Healthcare System Site Director for the University of Miami Psychiatry residency and fellowship programs. Additionally, she has served as the Medical Director of the inpatient psychiatry unit and subsequently as the Assistant Chief of Psychiatry for the Miami VA Healthcare System. Dr. Oliveri has a strong interest in treating a broad range of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, and substance use disorders. She has extensive experience in treating adults with severe psychiatric illnesses in the inpatient setting. Dr. Maaeesha Pushpita, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist with experience caring for patients across all age groups in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She holds a special interest in college-age populations, women’s and reproductive health, trauma-related care, nutritional psychiatry, and psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. Dr. Pushpita earned her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed her psychiatry residency at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Dr. Pushpita’s approach to care is patient-centered, holistic, empathic, evidence-based, and culturally competent. She values building trust and fostering an environment where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their care.

In the initial session, Dr. Pushpita takes time to understand each patient’s history, concerns, and goals. She carefully rules out underlying physical conditions that may impact mental health and cognitive functioning, and collaborates with patients to identify lifestyle changes that can support their well-being. Mu Xu, MD is a Psychiatrist at Talkiatry. He obtained his medical doctorate degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and PhD from New York University. He completed his psychiatry residency at New York University. Dr Xu is licensed to practice in California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Dr. Xu provides both medication management for a variety of psychiatric conditions. Dr. Xu is fluent in English and Mandarin. Dr. Xu is a general adult psychiatrist specializing in medication management. He values building strong connections with patients from all walks of life and tailoring treatments to their unique needs. His working style is characterized by attentive listening, detailed follow-up questions, and straightforward communication, fostering a collaborative and empathetic environment.

Dr. Antonio Ramirez earned his medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University, where he also served as Chief Resident in Psychiatry. He completed residency training at Ponce Health Sciences University and the U.S. Veterans Health Administration, Caribbean Healthcare System, followed by a Fellowship in Consultation–Liaison Psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Board-certified in both Psychiatry and Consultation–Liaison Psychiatry, he has served as Director of Psychiatry at the Roberto Clemente Center and Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Ramirez is bilingual in Spanish and bicultural, with published research in cultural psychiatry and stress biology, and has been recognized for teaching and leadership.

Dr. Ramirez focuses on compassionate, evidence-based care that integrates psychotherapy and psychotropic medications to promote recovery and growth. His collaborative and respectful style ensures patients feel heard while working toward meaningful goals. He emphasizes setting clear expectations from the start to foster confidence and engagement. With his background in consultation–liaison psychiatry, Dr. Ramirez brings expertise in caring for individuals managing psychiatric conditions alongside significant medical illness.

The first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation, during which Dr. Ramirez carefully explores a patient’s history, conditions, and symptoms. Based on this, he develops a personalized treatment plan and reviews it collaboratively, so expectations are clear. Future visits focus on monitoring progress, adjusting the plan as needed, and integrating both psychotherapy and medication management to best support the patient’s needs and long-term growth.

Dr. Jacob T. Kannarkat is an adult psychiatrist. Dr. Kannarkat's practice focuses on medication management. In his visits, he uses an integrative approach, blending an empathic, problem-solving orientation with an understanding that the reasons for an individual's condition can be complex. He has experience dealing with many forms of mental illness and works collaboratively with his patients and their other treatment providers in making a plan for recovery. Dr. Kannarkat completed undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. After receiving his medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Kannarkat continued for residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System. He ultimately completed his training as Chief of Psychiatric Emergency Services at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Kannarkat has experience working with adults of all ages who are dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance use disorders, and many other conditions.‍
