What being in-network means

Being in-network means your Aetna insurance applies to all your visits here. Instead of paying the full cost for care, your plan helps cover it.

There are details of your care that can affect your total out-of-pocket cost, including your:

  • Copay
  • Deductible
  • Coinsurance

Talkiatry makes it easy to find a PMHNP or psychiatrist who accepts Aetna. Take a short online assessment and we’ll match you with in-network clinicians who can see you in days.

What does Aetna typically cover?

By law, insurers have to cover mental health in the same way it covers other medical care.

This includes services like:

  • Psychiatry visits
  • Medication management
  • Therapy

Can I get an estimate of my visit cost?

Your out-of-pocket cost depends on the details of your Aetna plan, like your co-pay and your deductible. The best way to get an accurate estimate is to contact your insurer directly.

FAQs

Can I find an online psychiatrist that takes Aetna through Talkiatry?

Yes, Talkiatry can help you find an online psychiatrist that takes Aetna. Talkiatry is a virtual practice of more than 800 psychiatrists and PMHNPs. Take a short assessment to get matched with Talkiatry clinicians who are in-network with Aetna and can see you online.

Does Aetna cover ADHD testing?

Yes, Aetna covers ADHD evaluations. Psychiatric care at Talkiatry starts with an evaluation, where your clinician will assess your symptoms and determine whether you have ADHD. It may take several visits to receive an official diagnosis.

Talkiatry clinicians can diagnose ADHD and other conditions, but they do not offer neuropsychological testing.

Does Aetna offer mental health coverage?

Aetna plans generally include mental health coverage and benefits, but some plans may use a separate payer network for mental health care. This means Talkiatry could be in-network for your medical plan but out-of-network for mental health visits.

To confirm your mental health coverage, call the mental health or behavioral health number on your insurance card and ask whether Talkiatry is in-network.

Which Aetna plans does Talkiatry accept?

Talkiatry accepts most Aetna HMO, EPO, POS, and PPO plans, plus Medicare Advantage. Talkiatry does not accept Medicaid, including Aetna Better Health.
