Biography
Dr. Aaima Sayed is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology, magna cum laude, from Rutgers University before completing her medical degree at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and psychiatry residency at Loyola University Medical Center. During residency, she served as Co-Chief Resident and later Chief Resident. She was recognized for Excellence in Professionalism (2019), Excellence in Clinical Practice (2020), Excellence in Patient Feedback (2021), and Resident of the Year (2022). Dr. Sayed also worked as an outpatient psychiatrist at Access Community Health Network and has extensive telehealth experience.
Dr. Sayed combines medication management, supportive psychotherapy, and psychoeducation to help patients better understand their symptoms and treatment options. She creates a warm, empathetic environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. When needed, she may recommend more extensive psychotherapy to support the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Sayed begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to understand each patient’s history, symptoms, and goals. She takes a holistic, patient-centered approach that considers physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. While she treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions, she specializes in anxiety and depressive disorders.
