I focus on "wholeness" by understanding the whole person, not just their symptoms. My treatment approach includes a bio-psycho-sociocultural model and patient-centered care. I offer medication management and supportive therapy, and based on clinical need I also incorporate CBT, Mindfulness, and MI. I have special interest in women's mental health and cultural psychiatry. As an individual, I am intrigued by the human mind and behavior, which is why I chose to specialize in psychiatry.

I am double board certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, and I am also certified in mindfulness therapy. I am an international medical graduate from India with post-graduate training in Psychiatry and Family Medicine. To better understand USA public health and preventive care, I pursued an advanced degree in Master of Public Health from Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. Due to my interest in global health, I worked as a post-doctoral fellow in Global Health at Rutgers University. I completed my psychiatry residency at Cooper University Hospital, where I served as chief resident. Prior to joining Talkiatry, I was working as an attending psychiatrist and teaching faculty in an academic hospital.

I have experience managing diverse patients ranging from chronic severe mental illness and dual diagnosis patients to crisis management and high-functioning outpatient populations. I have years of experience treating patients from different cultural and religious backgrounds. Prior to moving to the USA, I worked as a medical officer in a government hospital system.

I take a holistic approach to patient care, establishing strong physician-patient relationships built on trust, respect, and communication. I primarily focus on medication management and also provide supportive psychotherapy. Treatment sessions are tailored to work towards a common goal to optimize one's mental well-being.

I graduated magna cum laude from undergraduate Binghamton University, received my medical degree from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed my residency in psychiatry at Northwell Mather Hospital, where I completed my residency training. I am a board certified psychiatrist. I have trained in various settings, including adult/adolescent psychiatric units and specialty clinics, and have experience in telepsychiatry visits.

I have experience treating numerous mental conditions, including depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and OCD. I also have experience treating patients of diverse cultures, having worked in psychiatric settings in the NYC metro and Long Island area.
