I was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and am a graduate of Augustana College. I obtained my MD at the USD School of Medicine. My residency was at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, where I was trained in both psychotherapy and biological management of psychiatric challenges. Following residency training, I continued to work with UAMS and the State of Arkansas in research and program development, focusing on implementing and then teaching novel strengths-focused care for people with severe mental illness for the first 12 years of my career. Later, I moved with my wife and three children to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and have since been in clinical practice and leadership roles in inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth psychiatric care settings.

Dr. Tamoria is a California native whose career has taken him around the country. As a medical student at Temple School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA he worked in a culturally diverse, urban community. He was Chief Resident at the “President’s Hospital” in Washington DC and spent the first part of his career serving as an active-duty Navy psychiatrist helping servicemembers and veterans. After the Navy, he returned west to WA whereas a Medical Director he led one of the state’s most successful behavioral health programs through COVID and into the telehealth revolution. Now he serves as Talkiatry’s first West Coast Chief leading and supporting psychiatrists across the western US.

My approach is holistic, collaborative, supportive, and patient-centered. My primary clinical focus is treating children and adolescents, and I have been caring for children and adolescents as a physician for more than 15 years. I incorporate therapeutic techniques into medication management visits, but I may also recommend adding a therapist to your care team for the best results.

I received my medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA, before moving to Memphis to complete my residency in Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center and Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. I completed my undergraduate studies at Haverford College in Pennsylvania. After completing training, I remained in Memphis and worked in the Le Bonheur Children's Hospital Emergency Department as a pediatrician. I then moved to Nashville to work at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in the Emergency Department Fast Track and After-Hours Clinics. I transitioned to primary care pediatrics at Pediatric Associates of Davidson County for several years before returning to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis to complete the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Post-Pediatric Portal Fellowship program. I draw on my years as a pediatrician working with families and children in my work as a psychiatrist.

My practice focuses on child and adolescent medication management. I typically offer this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. Occasionally, however, I may believe that additional therapy is needed and will ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome. I provide treatment plans that include holistic recommendations for diet, exercise, and educational and psychosocial/spiritual aspects of care. I received my medical degree from the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and my Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from The Ohio State University. Prior to attending medical school, I practiced for 14 years in physical therapy with a specialization in children with developmental and neurological disabilities. I have held multiple positions in hospital and outpatient psychiatry, including community mental health, developmental and foster care settings, and medical director positions. I have also served as clinical faculty for both the Wright State Department of Psychiatry and the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. I have a passion for the education of medical students, residents, and patients.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist who strives to understand my patients' lived experiences and aspirations to develop supportive therapeutic relationships through empathetic listening, mutual trust, and respect. I collaboratively create individualized care plans that align with personal treatment goals in a safe and judgment-free environment.

After completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology with a focus in psychology from the University of California, Merced, I earned my medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my General Psychiatry Residency at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in New York.

My clinical experience involves treating individuals of all age groups from diverse populations and socioeconomic backgrounds suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and neurocognitive disorders. I have provided care in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, emergency rooms, state facilities, and an inpatient chemical dependency center. I also performed pre-procedure psychological evaluations for bariatric and spinal cord surgeries, and psychiatric consult liaison services on medical units, and I have clinical training in inpatient and outpatient neurology. My clinical experience incorporated treatment modalities such as pharmacotherapy and interventional psychiatry, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Spravato. I integrate a wide array of psychotherapy as needed; however, my practice primarily focuses on medication management while utilizing referrals to therapists and providing collaborative care for optimal outcomes.

My practice focuses on evidence-based treatments for psychiatric illness, utilizing a combination of medications and psychotherapy modalities best suited for each individual patient and their needs. My particular clinical focus is on the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and behavioral addictions, as well as trauma, mood, and anxiety disorders. I offer this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. Weekly hour-long psychotherapy may be available if indicated. I am board certified in Addiction Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. I received my medical education at the University of Washington in Seattle after completing undergraduate studies in psychology and later a post-baccalaureate at Boston University. After residency at the University of Chicago, where I specialized in addiction psychiatry and psychotherapy, I completed an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist with over 14 years of experience, during which time I primarily treated active-duty US Navy sailors, their family members, and military retirees in the outpatient setting. My practice focuses on medication management in addition to supportive and cognitive-behavioral therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. I am a strong advocate of multiple treatment modalities and, in certain situations, may suggest that therapy and/or regular physical exercise be included in your treatment plan to provide the best outcome.

I received my B.S. in Physics from the United States Naval Academy. After serving as an Intelligence Officer in the Navy for eight years, I transitioned to medicine and earned my medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. After completing an intern year in Family Medicine, I completed residency training in Psychiatry at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA, where I remained on staff for the next ten years and was primarily involved in resident training and education. I held academic appointments at the Uniformed Services University and Eastern Virginia Medical School and served as the Psychiatry Residency Program Director for six years. I served my final four years in uniform running the behavioral health department at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, WA, and recently retired from the Navy after a 30-year career.

I have extensive experience in outpatient psychiatric care. In addition to the full spectrum of mood and anxiety disorders, I have treated a very large number of patients with PTSD stemming from combat, natural disasters, and sexual trauma. I believe that, like my service to the country, working alongside others in their journey to better mental health is an incredible privilege.

I focus on using my extensive medication knowledge to help treat an array of psychiatric disorders. Beyond medication management, I also work on a holistic approach to psychiatry, including working with the patient to get the proper therapy services when clinically indicated. During the initial interview, a thorough assessment is done, including any medical and psychiatric history, medications you may be currently taking, and supplements before any medication is dispensed. My interests include depression, anxiety, ADHD, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, transgender patients on hormone therapies and post-surgical transition. I also have an extensive interest in medical illnesses with a psychiatric component, such as cancer patients, transplant, HIV, and many others alike.

I completed my residency at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, New Jersey, where I excelled in leadership and knowledge, becoming Chief Resident in just my third year at the busiest outpatient behavioral health clinic in New Jersey. Upon completion of my third year, I went on to become Chief Academic Resident of my program, which allowed me to impart my knowledge of psychiatry to younger psychiatrists in training. After completing my residency in General Psychiatry, I completed a fellowship in the prestigious Mount Sinai Health System in New York City, based primarily out of the Beth Israel location. During this fellowship I studied Consultation-liaison psychiatry, also known as psychosomatic medicine, an exciting subspecialty of psychiatry that focuses on the care of patients with comorbid psychiatric and general medical conditions. Consultation-liaison psychiatry deals with the understanding and advancement of medical science, education, and the provision of healthcare for medically ill and complex patients.

Dr. Georgia Gaveras holds the position of Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Talkiatry. She is triple board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and addiction medicine. She has been practicing for over 18 years. Dr. Gaveras's practice focuses on medication management. Typically, she offers this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. However, occasionally Dr. Gaveras may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome. She received her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME, before moving back to NY to complete her residency at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital. After completing training, she remained and worked with dually-diagnosed adolescents at the Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Education Service (CARES) before becoming the Director of Training and Education for the Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals. She was then the associate director of child and adolescent emergency psychiatry at Cohen Children's Medical Center before becoming the Director of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn. Dr. Gaveras has held academic appointments at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, Zucker School of Medicine, and SUNY Downstate Medical College. In addition, she has appeared in numerous professional publications and authored several research papers. In addition to general, child, and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Gaveras is also board-certified in addiction medicine and trained in the Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions Service (EDCAS) program at the William Alanson White Institute. She completed her undergraduate studies at New York University. While having treated a wide variety of patients, her primary clinical focus has been in treating adolescents and young adults with co-occurring substance use disorders.
