Biography
My warm, approachable style values each patient's lived experience. I practice attunement to align with my patients and prioritize cura personalis — care for the whole person. I set a collaborative agenda, listen attentively, and thoroughly review patient history. I include perspectives from support systems when appropriate, offer psychoeducation with creative examples, and encourage open questions and feedback. I share credible resources, support learning together, and help patients define realistic goals and measurable benchmarks for progress.
I earned my medical degree from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, where I was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. I completed Stony Brook's combined residency in Adult Psychiatry and fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, along with the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Fellowship. I am board certified in adult psychiatry and board eligible in child and adolescent psychiatry, and I have worked across inpatient, emergency, outpatient, and school settings. My training includes expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Motivational Interviewing, and I incorporate principles from Supportive Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. I am skilled in medication management for a wide age range and integrate therapeutic skill-building.
Outside of work, I enjoy nature, visiting national parks, water activities, Indian Bhangra dance, music, and reflecting on meaningful quotes.
