Biography
I am board-certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine. I earned my medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed my psychiatry residency at Yale University. I have worked in hospitals and clinics, but most of my career has been in solo private practice. I provide medication management and psychotherapy and draw from psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, supportive, ACT, and positive psychology approaches.
I value getting to know my patients well and building a warm, trusting relationship. I believe we can collaborate to solve problems and improve your mental health. Patients have told me that I am easy to talk to, kind, and understanding, and I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable, heard, and respected.
Our first session typically includes a general evaluation, followed by discussion of diagnostic considerations and treatment options, including medication, psychotherapy, or both. We can also discuss newer treatments when appropriate. For psychotherapy, I take a more detailed history in subsequent sessions to better understand the concerns underlying your difficulties.
