Dr. Marcus serves as Chair of Psychotherapy Education at the Roanoke VAMC and is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatric Medicine at UVA. Schmidt College of Medicine and holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Molecular & Cell Biology (Neurobiology) and Psychology from UC Berkeley. His training spans inpatient, outpatient, consultation-liaison, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and residential settings, including work with veterans and first responders managing PTSD and substance use. With a clinical research background and 14 peer-reviewed publications, he values evidence-based care. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cooking, traveling, and exploring new foods.
