Biography

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been drawn to the connection between mind, body, and spirit throughout my career. I began by working with children who experienced abuse and neglect, later expanding my work to young adults and families. I earned my Master of Social Work from Wayne State University in 1999.

Taking the first step toward counseling can be difficult, and I applaud you for choosing to pursue positive change. I provide a respectful, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe and supported. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety and depression, including low energy, lack of motivation, and relationship difficulties. My communication style is calm and assertive, grounded in active listening, empathy, and healthy boundaries.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and work collaboratively with you to understand how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. We identify specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals and develop practical skills to help you become the therapist of your own life. Our first session focuses on getting to know each other and building trust.

My style is warm, conversational, and wellness-focused. While I may challenge clients, it is always done in a non-confrontational and supportive manner. I provide a judgment-free space for all clients, including those in poly relationships. Sessions emphasize collaboration, with clients setting their own goals while receiving guidance and exploration along the way. The first session focuses on understanding a client's history, life experiences, and previous counseling. I regularly check in about the therapeutic relationship and value feedback, always prioritizing client safety, comfort, and fit.
