Gary Bernard, MD

Deborah Gross, MD, earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed her psychiatric residency at the University of Washington. She obtained her medical doctorate and general psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston before completing her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. She is currently a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on pediatric mental health. Dr. Yen is also a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has been on the editorial board of Clinical Psychiatry News. Dr. Yen believes in a collaborative treatment approach that includes use of pharmacology, therapeutic interventions, and support networks. While versed in a broad range of mental disorders, she is most passionate about anxiety, depression, minority mental health, and acculturation and intergenerational conflicts. Dr. Ethan Atwood is a board-certified psychiatrist. He earned his medical degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his psychiatry residency and fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and he completed a forensic fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

After moving to the U.S., he worked in cancer research as a technician and later as a lab manager, while also conducting clinical research and mentoring students. Prior to residency, he completed an observership in psychiatry while working as a database manager. He values having trained in a program that emphasized both psychotherapy and medication management.

Dr. Velda Pugh-Kinsey is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with over three decades of experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at University Hospital. She has previously served as Chief of Mental Health at a VA Hospital and has maintained a successful private practice focused on medication management and supportive therapy.

Dr. Mohammed Ansari is an adult psychiatrist who is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has extensive experience in various practice settings and specializes in treating Adjustment disorder, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, insomnia, and working through psychosocial stressors that his patients are experiencing. Dr. Ansari focuses on medication management while also examining underlying causes contributing to mental illness including diet, exercise, and psychosocial stressors. He emphasizes taking a multifactorial approach to every case to ensure that he and his patients can identify the goals of treatment and underlying biopsychosocial presentation. Dr. Ansari enjoys working with his patients to set tangible and realistic goals and work towards those goals with a mix of medications and therapy. Dr. Ansari completed his undergraduate degree with a focus on cultural anthropology while completing all prerequisites for attending medical school. He received the honor of being named chief resident for his final year of psychiatry residency training.

Dr. Mirica Sanders is a board-certified adult psychiatrist. She graduated from Tennessee State University and earned her medical degree from Ohio University College of Medicine. She completed her Psychiatry Residency as Chief Resident at The Cleveland Clinic and pursued advanced training in community and public psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Sanders has experience practicing in both outpatient and inpatient settings and holds a special interest in women’s mental health.

Dr. Keri Lemmond is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience. Dr. Lemmond is a graduate of the Texas A&M Health Science Center and completed her residency training in adult psychiatry at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She previously held a faculty position with the University of Colorado School of Medicine and was a staff member at the Colorado State University Health Network. ‍In addition to her work with young adults in the college setting, she has had additional experience working with adults with co-occurring ADHD, substance use, PTSD, OCD, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Kenneth Ethan Lai explored a range of passions. After earning dual degrees in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside, he opened a popular Riverside eatery featured on The Food Channel. He later transitioned to the IT industry, earning a master’s degree and certifications, before answering his true calling in medicine, graduating from Saint Matthews University School of Medicine.

Dr. Lai believes psychiatry combines science and the art of medicine. Patients value his professionalism, patience, empathy, and attentive listening. Dr. Lai treats both adults and children/adolescents with expertise in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, addiction, geriatrics, and dual-diagnosis care.
