She received her Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA and completed residency training at Indiana University School of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. After completing her training, she joined the faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine and gained valuable experience providing outpatient psychiatric care that was evidence-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in the principles of cultural humility.

Treatment plans often include a combination of lifestyle modifications, therapy, and medication, when indicated. Dr. Harris routinely integrates therapy into each visit, but enhancing the treatment team through a referral to a therapist may be recommended. Her goal is to use a person-centered approach to identify the most effective strategies to address each individual's presenting concerns, recognizing that each journey is unique.
During the first visit, Dr. Harris will complete a thorough diagnostic evaluation. This will involve an in-depth clinical interview where Dr. Harris will ask questions about the presenting concerns and symptoms and the use of validated rating-scales.
