Dr. Zaidi graduated residency from University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve University in 2015. After residency he worked at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center as a staff psychiatrist. He eventually took on the role of Mental Health Lead Psychiatrist and Interim Clinic Director at the Tomball VA Outpatient Clinic. Dr. Zaidi then transferred to a telepsychiatry role at VISN 15 providing mental health coverage for rural areas in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois. Dr. Zaidi resides in Houston, Texas and enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and watching/playing sports such as Football, Basketball, and Soccer.

Dr. Zaidi has over 15 years of experience in treating different mental health conditions and is currently board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He enjoys getting to learn about patients and working collaboratively to provide the best treatment possible, be it medications or talk therapy. Dr. Zaidi has vast experience treating Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, among many others.

Dr. Zaidi's goal when working with patients is to not come to a generic diagnosis; rather, it is to get to know about the client and try and manage their symptoms in the best way possible. Dr. Richard Shehane completed medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and then went on to complete psychiatry residency training at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Dr. Shehane is a board-certified psychiatrist that specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders and ADHD. Dr. Shehane has also worked extensively with patients that have experienced sexual trauma in their past and patients struggling with substance and alcohol use addictions.

Dr. Shehane will focus on two main approaches to mental health treatment: medication management and psychotherapy. Appointments will focus on a mix of interactions aimed at tailoring each patient’s specific medication needs as well as promoting mental health wellness through different types of evidence-based therapy techniques including mindfulness, CBT, CPT and psychodynamic psychotherapy.

He completed his undergraduate education at Harvard University and earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed his psychiatry residency training at Baylor College of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident and subsquently was an Associate Professor of Psychiatry for ten years. During his tenure as a faculty member at Baylor, he served as Medical Director for the Baylor Psychiatry Clinic and also maintained a private practice, where he provided psychotherapy and medication management. 

In 2004, Dr. Gonzalez moved to Austin, Texas where he joined the US Veterans Administration, serving in various administrative positions, including Medical Director for the Central Texas VA Outpatient Clinics.

He provides compassionate, evidence-based care to thousands of service members, treating a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions. In medical school at Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York, Dr. Locher was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society while earning his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Meeting people where they are. It is an old trope, but describes how one allows a patient to set the path forward. An open-ended interview is conducted with an open mind towards resolution. When being evaluated and treated by Dr. Wheatley, a patient can expect to be met in a cordial but professional manner. Treatments are discussed and considered based on the mental state of the patient and the clinical efficacy and scientific evidence of benefit. Dr. Mott grew up in southeastern Idaho. She earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of California at Berkeley in 2009, and her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2014 from the University of Chicago. She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Utah in 2018 and became board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 2019. Following her residency, she worked as an inpatient psychiatrist at the Huntsman Mental Health Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah and served as an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Utah. In 2021 she moved to Dallas, Texas to work in a residential and partial hospitalization treatment center for eating disorders. She loves to incorporate psychotherapeutic techniques and goal setting together with medication management to help patients achieve wellness and fulfillment in their lives.

Dr. Mott enjoys treating a wide variety of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, eating disorders and substance use disorders. She believes strongly in individualized treatment that focuses on holistic, compassionate and collaborative care with patients.

Dr. Suneja practices psychiatry through a collaborative, integrative, disability and healing justice-informed lens. He rejects oversimplified binaries, recognizing that healing requires embracing complexity. His training includes Columbia, Johns Hopkins, and a global mental health fellowship at UCSF. His clinical interests include anxiety, OCD, women’s reproductive mental health, climate stress, intergenerational trauma, immigrant and refugee mental health, and substance use concerns. Based in Tucson, he enjoys desert life, reading, baking, making art, and spending time with his two dogs.

Dr. Suneja provides a healing space that prioritizes each service user’s goals and lived experiences. His approach integrates psychiatric and psychotherapeutic practices with complementary, alternative, and natural therapies, as well as harm reduction. His approach is neurodivergence-, queer-, and gender-affirming as well as trauma-informed. Rejecting the binary of “mentally ill” vs. “mentally healthy,” he recognizes the mind, body, and soul’s inherent complexity.

Dr. Suneja tailors care to each service user. The first session explores goals, treatment options, and optimal meeting frequency. In many cases, visits are more frequent at the beginning of treatment and spaced out over time. He prefers visits at least every 4-6 weeks and integrates psychotherapy into all treatment plans, with many service users benefiting from ongoing deeper therapeutic work.

Dr. Stephane Louis, LMFT, QS, earned a B.S. in Psychology and Biblical Studies from Palm Beach Atlantic University, followed by her M.S. and PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. In 2020, she was featured in Forbes for her study of resilience and intersecting identities in queer women of Afro-Caribbean descent. Past roles include bilingual mental health assessor, psychology instructor at Broward College, and Student Counselor at Lynn University. As a therapist, Dr. Louis’ work has given her in-depth insight into how multiple systems and important relationships can influence the course of a person’s life.

As a queer woman of Haitian descent, Dr. Louis explores different ways the intersectionality of culture, family, identity, and sexuality can impact our lives. She is fascinated by stories of vulnerability, always looking for strengths and solutions. She helps people feel safe to be themselves and go from where they are to where they can be.

Dr. Louis provides individual, couples, and family therapy, integrating Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Solution-Focused Therapy, collaborative conversations, and systemic approaches to address LGBTQ+ issues, racial trauma, cultural identity exploration, and relational wounds. Dr. Louis will meet you where you are and help you grow into the most authentic version of yourself.

Dr. Rania Elkhatib is a board-certified general psychiatrist with extensive experience in clinical care, teaching, and research. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed her psychiatry residency at UTHealth Science Center in Houston, where she later served as an Assistant Clinical Professor. During that appointment, Dr. Elkhatib was heavily involved in medical education and has developed courses in cultural psychiatry and psychiatry boot camps for medical students.

Dr. Elkhatib specializes in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, OCD, ADHD, and PTSD. Dr. Elkhatib focuses on evidence-based medication management but will also incorporate supportive therapy and cognitive-behavioral techniques to optimize treatment management and patient’s wellness. She is fluent in Arabic and English and has a strong interest in working with diverse patient populations.
